• Beta Testers Needed For Rogero CEX4.21 v1.09

    PS3 Hacks , 26.10.2012

    The man behind Rogero manager and Roger CFW is looking for beta testers for his new CFW, here is a quote from the source:

    Ok Guys, I think now we are ready for the initial Beta testing of “Rogero CEX4.21 v1.09″

    Now it should work fine on those slim machines that bricked with version 1.00 ( all the team testers have it now working fine on their slims that bricked the first time )

    Please I need the guys with Flashers installed and willing to test it before the rest of the guys who don’t have flashers

    Especially those machines that bricked and were recovered, these are the most meant by this test release.

    and if all went fine and no more brick reports hopefully, we will have the official release soon.

    For the guys willing to test it and are aware of the risks like any CFW test,

    Please post here in this thread and not in PM, and i will reply to you in PM with the download link.

      And an E3 with good NAND backups that I can test with

      Was curious if you noticed any fixes for FAT consoles at all by chance? Does the XMB fully work now while in a game by chance? It's really the only issue I've had. Parts of the XMB have infinitely spinning icons. Aside from that, the initial release has been treating me great. Rogero is awesome, but he is human. So he made some mistakes on the initial release, he's making good on his mistakes right now.

      Question.... What if you have a fat ps3 and its on 4.21cfw works just fine should we update? Or should we just leave it be ? Also if we do want to update to the new version of 4.21cfw is it going to be just as easy as the first time or do we have to downgrade first then update?

      I'm curious, why 4.21 and not 4.25 or 4.30? Doesn't the recent leak enable all OFW's to be hacked? Or is there no reason to go above 4.21 now? (does PSN still work?)

      anyone still able to play online on 4.21 cfw? just wondering will we get to play online again directly wired like itskamel spoofed it for 4.25? coz lets face it ****psn makes u see players teleporting from place to place. if u know wat i mean. or are we expecting 4.30/4.40 cfw releases soon?

      When V2 comes out ..if ANY one install 4.21 CFW v1 ..You will need to downgrade to 3.55 and then 4.21 CFW V2

      Current system : Rogero cex-4.21 v1.00:
      Target : 4.21 v1.09

      Try to update through recovery and receive "corrupt data"
      Try to update through xmb and get "update data of version 3.20 can be installed"

      1/ really is a a corrupt download
      2/ cannot update directly from rogero 4.21 v1.00 to rogero 1.09d.

      Hey I would like to test it out, I'm getting my e3 flasher tomorrow and I already got a ps3 slim model Cech-2101a 160gb mfg 08/10. I'll make sure to backup my NAND and dehash before I install it on 3.55 firmware because I have the latest one now.

      Hey Rogero, Let me give you an overview of my PS3's.
      I have a PS3 Slim Model# CECH-2001A
      I just Upgraded the firmware from Rogero 3.55 to Rogero 4.21v1
      There was no bricking whats so ever and a speed in increase in the XMB

      I also have a 80Gb Phat Model# CECHE01
      The firmware on it is Cobra 3.55 and would like to upgrade to 4.21 but
      I would need a CFW for Cobra, like Cobra 4.21.

      Also If you noticed I have a Cobra Usb Dongle

      So in other words It would be my pleasure to work for Rogero, just message me for futher assistance.

      From what i have seen only FAT ps3 can update directly from 4.21 v1.0 to 4.21 v1.9 (via recovery) without issue,only slims get corrupted message when trying to install this.

      I hope Rogero can fix this

      I'm sure it'll get ironed out later on down the line. Meanwhile, you just have to revert back down to 3.55 OFW/CFW just like how the instructions say on Rogero's OP

      Hopefully this is it... would be nice to see this version clear the wave of bricks and I personally would like to see a CEX and a DEX version for this. I have a slim and stored my original CEX EID dump safely so I wouldn't have trouble getting back to CEX but from the homebrew and downgrading aspects I'm sorry but retail sucks!
