• PS3 Hacks , 26.12.2012

PS3 homebrew devs have been working hard over the Christmas period, we have had cool CFW releases and deroads sexy PSChannel, plugins from facanferff, homebrew games from makus95 and Daveyshambles.

Now we have these awesome updates from flatz, who has released  Disc Key Dumper, Klicensee Dumper and Secure File ID Dumper for use on 4.21 CFW, here is a quote from the awesome dev :)

Finally I was able to find the time to port my dumpers on 4.21 CFW. There were some problems while porting from 3.55 to 4.xx and hopefully all of them were fixed.

These dumpers are not required to work with previous tool called Data Ddumper because they just write all data directly to the corresponding file on /dev_hdd0/tmp.
All dumpers were tested on 4.21 REX and should works fine if you do the process correctly.

I recommend to use the FTP client from multiMAN to patch sprx files.
Don’t forget to make backups of sprx files before patching them.
Don’t use two or more dumpers at once – this will definitely not work).

Thanks for your hard work flatz, Merry Christmas :)

mod sprx files in vsh, restart console, launch secure_file_id_dumper (console beeping twice), start game, and there it freezes if i load a save or create new one. have to unplug wire to stop console as its not responding at all.

flatz : great job, thanks for your work.

But the klicensee dumper fails on NFS Most Wanted and Far Cry 3, both games will freeze early without dumping any klic. It does work PERFECTLY on some other games I tried though.

also for the ppl trying to get klic from FF13-2 it could be the game thats the issue since 1 it uses Duel encryption not just 1 it uses sony and also uses a Squareneix one .. Just an FYI so even if u decrypt the one file with the sony key your still goin to need to revers it to decrypt it fully like it is on GG ..

Any chance to patching modules on the fly?

I'm actually on DEX CFW 4.21 PSita v0.9. It could work on it? I don't want testing without a modchip (perm brick/semi brick?).

We tested some games yesterday. I think that payloads which I use for dumpers are not compatible with multiMAN (well, they can work but some times you can have an issue with freezing the console). At the moment I can't get any idea why this situation happens but I hope that I will fix it.

I wanted this feature for the next version and I should think how to implement it.

No, its purpose is to use original game disc. If you run it without an original disc using multiMAN then you will get a garbage. Maybe so that the hash will match your save game but only if you will use it on CFW. On OFW it will be incorrect. For discless games you don't need to run this dumper because in this case a static fallback key is used.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
For those who encountered problems with multiMAN and dumpers: you should try to run the multiMAN first, then mount a game, then exit from the multiMAN, run the dumper and then start the game. After exiting from the game you should restart the console and then start the multiMAN and grab the file using a FTP.

Here is FFXIII-2. I resigned a save, successfully copied, and loaded it. I don't know if it works on the US version but someone can test it. Add the following to your games.conf. I used the 3.55 version and keam to dump it from memory. Loaded it on another console with the latest Rogero.

the Secure File Id is only needed if u want to decrypt the file u dont need it to resigne your save.. and like i said there is more to decrypting the save then just neededing this one key .. SquareEnix user there own key as well

flatz : you are right about it conflicting with multiman. After a few trials, I've been able to dump the devklic of these problematic games. Thanks again for your app, it's really a nice share.

It never worked for me until I put this key into the games.conf. I kept getting an 8000C....... something error when copying to the other PS3 after a resign.

Maybe you forgot to specify 'partial' option?

I'm using the tool from this thread.

http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=48862

I just tried again without the key and got a 8001051C the data is corrupted. I don't know what you mean by specify partial option as I'm using something else to resign. I didn't intend to hijack this thread so maybe I posted this in the wrong section. I just saw the previous post and someone was having trouble dumping.

BTW: So, we can get a proper disk hash key/sec file id from mounted game in backup manager?

Yes. But anyway there are some games which doesn't work with dumpers. I believe that they reach kernel stack area and then lv2 panic. I tried different ways to fix this problem but none of them didn't help. Besides that, PS3 formatted my HDD today and I lost a patience. :/

Nope, they needs to be ported to 4.30.
