Honestly?, I think it’s a good market strategy but..i don’t like the idea of *convicing someone* to buy someone that probably don’t like. Sony being Sony, don’t blame them tough.
To quote:
During the month of February, Sony has launched an incentivized referral program that rewards PlayStation 3/Vita owners with $20 of PSN credit and 1,000 Sony Rewards points, provided they successfully convince a friend or family member to purchase a Vita.
Your referred friend/family member also receives $20 in PlayStation Network credit, in addition to, like, the Vita they just bought, which makes this whole thing a pretty easy sell for anyone who had already planned on buying a new handheld this month. If you don’t know anyone like that, however, might we suggest bribing them with the copy of Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation that you bought with your 1,000 Sony Rewards points?

No thanks. I wont buy it and I wont convincing someone to buy a Vita.. Its blackmail and PSVita games are horrible. Many of 3rd party are not supporting it. Skip it.. Go with 3DS because of 3rd party supporting.. lots of them as far as I know. Silly Sony.. Shame on you, Sony, for blackmail to make a profits. Disgusting.

For me Ps Vita games are far from horrible. I love the console and honestly i hope we see more releases.
Otherwise if games were *horrible* i wouldn't buy it.
I fell in *love* with gravity rush.

Haha wow they must be desperate... I remember reading something recently (may have even been here) about the Vita being permanently stuck on Gingerbread firmware; that's just pathetic.

So, it came to the point that people have to get convinced by others to buy a console? Oh, Sony, poor Sony, you lost it.

Ohhh Sony..so drunk.

It should be noted that this offer is only for those that received the email in the first place, due to being a Sony credit card holder. So if you don't have the email, you can only be a referral and can't get additional credit for getting others to buy vitas. So obviously this wasn't part of some master plan to get more people to buy Vitas, but rather just a reward for those who have the credit card.
That said, I love my Vita way more than my 3ds. And I primarily bought it to be a Persona machine (P4G and P3P). If you've never had a PSP, then there's tons of awesome games and they all look so nice on the beautiful OLED screen of the Vita (which is so much nicer than the 3DS screen).
I do hope that more titles come out, but I'd say that it's been worth it. It probably won't see more sales until a price drop, just like what happened with the PS3 and PSP.

how am i supposed to convince people buying a vita?
1. there are not many game titles
2. the psp even today still popular
3. again to number 1, WHERE ARE THE HUGE LIBRARY OF GAMES!?

At no point have I ever wanted a Vita.
THIS publicity makes me think even less of it than I already did (if that's possible).
$ony desperation fail.

after a 50€ reduction on ps vita, now they give PSN credit.
They are desperate

Why does this sound like something you'd expect from an infomercial for a **** overpriced product?
"But that's not all, we'll throw in this voucher and 1000 points!".
edit:
BTW I've tried my brothers Vita, there is potential for the console but it needs more games and a price cut (including the bigger memory cards).
That said, my anger from OOS being removed is still there so they would have to be good games, not **** like COD.

nobody got a voucher for the vita?...let's say end price 120 euros...it's like an senseo machine..it never drops in price..and sh*tty coffee anyway

Sorry but I agree. Until bigger game library comes out the PSP is still the king. I mean the PSPGO was a flop. A MAJOR one.... What makes you think I'm gonna go after the Vita just yet?
This makes me suspicious that sony is going to die soon lmao

Sony's said that they're not going to consider the Vita a failure unless it's still selling poorly 5-6 years down the line. It's like you guys have forgotten how poorly the PS3 sold when it first came out and how it didn't start really selling systems until about 2-3 years after its release. And this was after price drops, which Sony still hasn't done for the Vita. I mean, the PS3 just overtook the xbox360 this year for sales.
They're beginning to release some new first party games and will more aggressively market the system in the near future. They've also admitted that they didn't have enough time to market the system during the past year because they were focused on other things (such as the new console). At least wait until Destination Playstation and Captivate 2013 or the next E3.
But in other Vita news, at the Taipei Game Show 2013 in a couple of days, they're going to be having 30min presentations for some promising upcoming titles, Tearaway, Killzone: Mercenary and Soul Sacrifice. These games should show the capability of the system when not being rushed to put out crap games like Activision's and Ubisoft's recent attempts.

They wouldn't have gone to that point if they didn't feel the pressure terribly tight, the fact that they made a promotion like this means alot. Sony knows that they are pretty like playing their last cards to attempt having a possibility to recover from failure and I have to admit that I doubt this technic even if it worked that it would mean alot about PSVita's destiny since what they do is buying time but on the other hand, they also give a promise that PSVita will become stronger which in the current state, there is pretty like no possibility to happen which would mean unhappy costumers that would pass on the next release of a Sony console. They are playing with a boomerang right now by giving empty promises once again.
