Another update, Rogero CEX-4.30 v2.05, has been released by Rogero. This version changes the IPF (Install Package Files) over [app_home] to “ToolBox” and disables the Cinavia Protection on HDD content.
This CFW was tested on most PS3 Models by different testers and no problems were encountered.
But as any CFW release you must install it with caution and by following proper instructions, No one will be held responsible for any damage caused.* This CFW can be installed fine from XMB Update over any OFW3.55/CFW3.55/CFW4.21/CFW4.30.

* Spoofed the system version to latest OFW version 4.31.
* PSN/SEN access is available as long as the current “passphrase” still the same.
* Loading games from App_home Icon is now fixed.
* It can run games signed with Keys up to version 4.30 without any Eboot/Sprx patching needed
* Games can be loaded from Disc Icon (with Original game in BD) and from app_home (Disc-less, but not all games).
* Current 3.55 homebrew applications can’t be loaded on this CFW, applications must be re-signed properly for FW4.21/4.30ATTENTION:
1- This CFW does have LV1 checks disabled and can be installed on Downgraded PS3 consoles even if not dehashed after downgrade. Just in case anyone still need to dehash, here’s the link Link —-> Dehashing Tutorial
2- Always make a NOR/Nand dump using multiMAN before installing any CFW to have a recovery backup in case of any bricks.
Having a valid NOR/Nand dump is an essential step before upgrading, because you will always have a chance to recover when you have a valid dump.
** A Hardware Flasher alone without a valid dump may not fix your bricked PS3 **3- The QA flag is better to be always Enabled on your PS3 for safer upgrading/downgrading operations. Link —-> toggle_qa.pkg
4- Please Check the MD5 of the downloaded PUP file before installing any CFW to avoid possible bricks.
5- DO NOT HAVE DISC IN PS3 WHEN UPDATING FIRMWARES..As the PS3 will take the UPDATE from the DISC First.
6- You need to be already on a 3.55OFW or 3.55CFW/4.21CFW/4.30CFW to install this. Installing from any OFW > 3.55 won’t work. (Hardware Flasher needed)
- Downgrading back to 3.55 is always possible using the following steps :
- Download the Downgrader PUP —> Downgrader PUP mirror —> Downgrader PUP
…Size 176MB (184,595,263 bytes) MD5: 49d80e07fc1f5ca1b0840e02e94635db
- Rename the downloaded file to “PS3UPDAT.PUP” and put it on your USB in: “USBPS3UPDATEPS3UPDAT.PUP”
- While on Rogero CFW4.30, go to System Update from XMB and install the Downgrader PUP.
- After the Downgrader PUP installs you’ll be on a hybrid CFW3.55 that will still shows the spoofed ver4.21 from system settings.
- In case you didn’t have it Set Before, Enable QA flag by following these steps:1- Download the Rebug QA_Toggle package from here —> toggle_qa.pkg
2- Put the “toggle_qa.pkg” on USB and Install it on the PS3.
3- Run the “Rebug Toggle QA” from XMB, the screen will go Black and you will see HDD Led activity then if all went fine you will hear 2 or 3 Beeps and the PS3 will Restart back to XMB.
4- If you want to make sure QA flag was set, go to “Network Settings” then apply the following key combo (all at the same time):L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down
You should see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files if done correctly.
- Now put “Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7″ on your USB in: “USBPS3UPDATEPS3UPDAT.PUP” —> Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7.PUP
- Start the PS3 and install “Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7″ using the System Update from XMB.
- Once you’re back on Rogero CFW3.55 v3.7 you can now install any CFW 3.55/4.21/4.30 using the System Update from XMB
( or Recovery Menu if XMB Update didn’t work ).Credits to :

I thought about it and it makes sense since I expect exting FSM would be impossible on a FW superior to 3.55

So the correct procedure would be to install Rogero 4.30 v2.05 in _recovery_ (NOT FSM) after starting console with NOR patched with Three musketeers' patches.
Thank you for your patience, but it seems there's a lot less public infos about this procedure compared with what's available for "normal" downgrade.

- You can patch the NOR with three Muskteteers Patch, Flash it, then start PS3 with connect controller message, and install Rogero CFW4.30 v2.05 from a normal USB directly (no FSM needed at all) this works if the PS3 is on OFW <= 4.30, if the PS3 is on 4.31 then you need the old patches for 3.55 coreos + FSM install ( also use Rogero 4.30 v2.05 from FSM directly )
- another answer is YES you can exit FSM fine after installing Rogero CFW4.30 v2.05 (it have the patch needed to exit FSM)
Also, a new version of the PS3 Auto Nor Patcher is in the work with a new CFW v2.06 that will make the downgrading procedure very simple ( and will be compatible also for PS3's on OFW4.31 with Factory version 3.56, no FSM will be needed to any downgrade anymore )

from what i understand is you are on ofw 4.21 and want to update to "ofw dex" 4.21?
there is no "ofw dex" 4.21 there is a "cfw dex" 4.21 be Rebug also called REX... to get on rex 4.21 you have to be on a cfw
since that is only possible on ofw 3.55 and your ps3 is not downgradeable(CECH-3k) you have no choice to keep on OFW
there is NO way to get on CFW on 3k models

My 3.60 PS3 has been in the cupboard the last 10 months while I waited for a solution. I finally gave in and paid someone to downgrade it to 3.55
The first thing I did was upgrade to Rogero and the installation went smoothly.

Do you have multiple USB devices plugged in?, if so just use the one for your backups on external.
If all else fails try download mM 04.18.00 BASE again, delete your old installation, instal the freshly downloaded one, and reinstall 04.18.00 BASE.
From there if it fails again, check your settings

So deleting multiman and reinstalling 4.18 full didnt work (still black screen). I restored file system, reinstalled firmware and still same issue. I can run disks fine but any thing else black screens. Also takes a LONG time to restart from anything system related (file system, firmware, standard restart, ect.)
This is making me wish I had just stayed on 3.55

Chances are your download was corrupted.
Also: always check the MD5 hash before even attempting to install CFW or OFW. Better to be safe than sorry.

CODMW3 works fine on 4.30 v2.05.
You need to re-rip or revert your files back to original IF you applied 3.55 fixes.
I always back up my eboots/selfs
have you set Bd mirror etc? and obviously have a disc in the drive for max compatibility.
EDIT: actually, if you didnt back up your original files, just download one of the 1.02-1.06 patches and install it with IPF, and the game will boot from the update eboot + selfs rather than the backups directory.
Download the update through mM or mount the game, load from the disc icon, and let it update to 1.06 through XMB, or download externally using the games ID: http://yifan.lu/psn/

Hi, I have a problem playing/installing games. I am running Rogero 4.30 v2.05. After finish running Multiman 04.19.00, I select the game disc to start from the XMB. The game begins to start and then in a few seconds a message comes up (please wait) i see the game running in the background and then the system restarts or goes back to the XMB. Please help.

I'm new to the CFW scene, and have in another thread been informed by the very helpful members of this forum that Rogero 4.30 v2.05 is just what I am looking for.
I have also been informed that my one concern regarding Blu-ray functionality should be a non-issue - however I need to make absolutely certain of this, as the Blu-ray/movie playback functionality is the one thing I cannot do without.
So, can anyone confirm that even the newest of Blu-ray discs can be played on this firmware, that the same encryption keys for this purpose from the official firmware is also present here? I'm in region B land, if that matters.

anyone knows how can i access PS Store from this CFW ?
when try to access the Store, it asks to "download software" *i'm assuming newest OFW ?

Hey guys, I'd just like to know something, please bear with me as I know nothing about PS3 jailbreaking.
I have PS3 CECH-2504B
It had FW 3.56 when i purchased it (refurbished purchased from retail store)
MinVerChecker says lowest possible FW is 3.40
I'm currently running 4.11 (the genuine one from Sony)
Is it possible that this PS3 can be jailbroken?
I have already downloaded Rogero CEX-4.30 v2.05, and if I go to system update on my XMB menu it seems to allow me to install (as in i don't get an error about version numbers) so I'm basically 1 click away from trying to install it.
"The following update data was found:
Version 4.25 - 3.55
Location USB device"
Is Rogero CEX-4.30 v2.05 likely to brick my console in this situation? If so, do I have any alternatives or am I stuck without a jailbreak?

Yesterday I played and watched Avengers bluray on my Rogero 4.30 2.05 CFW PS3, thats another new bluray that works just fine as proof you will be just fine playing BD's once you update
For this you will need to buy a FSM dongle and hardware flasher (NOR), or pay someone to do it for you if you do not understand how to do it.
There is no way to instal CFW on a PS3 running anything higher than 3.55 OFW.
There is no way to downgrade without a hardware flasher.

I've decided to take the plunge from kmeaw 3.55 to Rogero 4.30 v2.05 and I saw that you did also a while back. Only thing I'm uncertain of is if I need to do the dehash process first?
It's a phat model that's never been downgraded (it has had kiosk firmware on it though if that matters)
so I should be good to go straight from kmeaw through XMB to Rogero without dehashing right?
IF I ever decide to roll back to 3.55 is there anything I have to do BEFORE I update to Rogero, like installing QA flag and dehashing or is that ok to do after the I update?
Sure appreciate your help and advice on this, kinda nervous leaving the old kmeaw but I get the feeling newer games like DS3 and I bet a lot more upcoming games aren't gonna work flawless on 3.55. Thanks in advance!

You should dehash : QA flag then install 3.55 OFW from recovery, just in case, and to have QA flag enabled should it ever be needed in future
TBH you should be able to update straight to ROgero 2.05 from XMB without dehashing as I understand rogero's FWs have features built in to avoid hash panic.
Once you are on 4.30 rogero, you will love it

My PS3 is is currently in the process of being jailbroken, looking forward to all the possibilites awaiting me when I pick it up again later this week!

can i install this CFW on ps3 with having a CFW 3.55 ROGERO (version unknown) with spoof 4.11 (version unknown), or i need to remove 1st the spoof 4.11 on the system, or install it directly?
i did not the one who install the spoof 4.11 (version unknown) on my system because may ps3 is 2nd hand lol

kindly update the CFW with reactpsn integration, i have tried installing reactpsn a hundred different methods and on CFW3.55, CFW 4.30 v 2.03 v2.05, but it did not work

I understand v2.05 will SEEMINGLY not work with ReactPSN, but only Rogero can address that issue, if it is an issue and not a problem that occurs rarely in specific cases like mine and yours.
FYI. When I had KMEAW 3.55 ReactPSN worked fine on my old 60GB (previously on PSN) console, but since that console died, and my new slim has never been on PSN, ReactPSN will not work.
You could update to REBUG 4.21 or 4.30 CFWs and React should work.

Rogero v2.03 with Reactpsn works fine with original Act.dat, my slim on .05 that never accessed psn on the other hand will not (as I expected).
Not sure why this guy has tried hundreds of times and failed where I tried once and succeeded.

ReastPSN says its worked on my 4.30 v2.05 Rogero, but it just simply doesn't reactivate anything (aa changes to the number of edats etc that got "react'ed, but games (GTA:SA and VC) constantly fail before even launching)

For curiosity reasons, I logged in on my slim for the first time (rogero v2.05) installed reactpsn 2.23 and downloaded a lbp (free) costume thus creating the valid act.dat, created the appropriate folders and added act.dat to my USB stick.
Activated a mini first and then made what was a trial, the full game, therefore it definitely works for me.

You said your cfw ps3 has never on psn so you have no legit act.dat.
Have you a act.dat from the internet or from somebody with the right name together?
You can data transfer from your ofw ps3 to cfw ps3 then you have your own act.dat file with the right name.

It is not a patched version of reActPSN, so not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Rogero is aware of issues as well, but is very busy so not sure when we may see a fix or not
