Thanks to gingerbread ;) (always loyal)

    @aldostools has released version 3.0.4

    Added new Major features
    - Added cheat system!
    - Added Game Genie Code Format. (No Conversion needed)

Once the save data is decrypted, the cheat button is enabled.

Cheats should be stored on .Cheats folder
The files should be named TITLEID.ps3savecheat or TITLE NAME.ps3savecheat (TITLEID has priority over TITLE NAME)

    Changes:
    - The .ps3savepatch files now can be edited directly from the GUI (files up to 64KB)
    - Added native support for Game Genie codes
    0TXXXXXX 000000YY = 8Bit Write
    1TXXXXXX 0000YYYY = 16Bit Write
    2TXXXXXX YYYYYYYY = 32Bit Write
    8ZZZXXXX YYYYYYYY = Search Type

    Multi Write
    4TXXXXXX YYYYYYYY
    4NNNWWWW VVVVVVVV

    Copy Bytes
    5TXXXXXX ZZZZZZZZ
    5TYYYYYY 00000000

It is required to add the file name/pattern (:filename). If the line is omited, the code will be applied to the first file found in the folder (excluding param.sfo, param.pfd, icon0.pfd, eboot.bin, eboot.elf)

The :file name now supports a folder name/pattern as filter (similar to Path: <folder> filter).
    eg. :MRTC00001-FIXED-SYS-DATA

As there are many major changes, some bugs are expected. So please, test and report them back.

The program supports 2 different formats (which can be used in the same file):

    1. GameGenie codes use the original format (the 0x prefix is not required and codes are fixed size -> 2 blocks of 8 hex digits)

    Code:
    ;comment

     :P LAY.DAT
    [Max SP]
    2000006C 0001869F

    2. And the BSD patch format, require the 0x at the begining of the line and the parameters are variable size.

    Code:
    ;comment

    :SYS-DATA
    [Unlock All Difficulties]
    0x00000028 60 ;comment

I really hope more users/members will come on-board to find/submit more codes.

      [MENTION=21493]MajorDisaster[/MENTION] Yeap!

Could you help adding codes from GG to BSD? You can start with games that has 1 or 2 cheats and we can work our way up. And PM them to Aldo, so that he can add them to the installer. Thanks!

Goal - By end of march BSD's Cheat DB should be on par with GG.

Credits should go to [MENTION=209495]SkillerCMP[/MENTION] who provided the meaning of the codes for Game Genie and [MENTION=221155]gingerbread[/MENTION] for the inception

I just translated what they said into a binary file

Yeah definitely, but I don't have a ps3 right now to test if I'm doing it right could you post a cheat from thegamegenie.com/ps3/

Me and Gemma Arden have reversed the game genie program. we were at about 80% on re-coding it to work offline without a dongle. I have a copy of the gamegenie temp file that the program downloads that has all the codes listed on it. Pm me if you want a copy.

odd it already works with out a dongle.. it be interesting to see how u would have gained access to the actual server to reverse the actual program . iv read your stuff on crunch .. all u did was change the GUI . ull still need online access..

You are honestly are my favorite dev on the ps3 scene I'm definitly going to donate like 25 dollars. I know it's not much and if I could give more I would because your tools are definitly worth way more than the measly 25 dollars I'm going to donate to you. Now do you have a donate link on your site and does it accept PayPal? Could you post the link so I could donate to you. Thanks for all your good work Aldo.

This has nothing to do with CFW, you're using this with bruteforce from aldostools. It's the program that decrypts saves...you can use the gamegenie codes and edit your save file...all saved cheats wind up in the cheats folder of the program.

There will be a database with ready made cheats, but that will take awhile to compile. In the meantime you can contribute by adding cheats to the saves and pming the cheat files to aldo so he can start adding them to the installer.

For Ni No Kuni this format works as well.

      I don't know if this is a bug, [MENTION=100038]aldostools[/MENTION]

      Max Money
      3E957557 E6D7E6B4

      Lots Of Battles
      4729D658 649DF292
      Max Stamps
      A206E9DC 5D2DB2E0

But for max stamps I would get a checkbox for it and the code below it. I don't know if it dupes the code in the cheats list or I'm doing something wrong.

I get the same thing when I paste the format [MENTION=21493]MajorDisaster[/MENTION] listed. The cheat list is shown correctly but in some areas I get the code listed right below it as well.

The issue should be fixed in the version that is currently available on my website.
I think I fixed it late last night.

Anyway that cheat is not working with BSD.
      It only supports codes:
      0TXXXXXX 000000YY = 8Bit Write
      1TXXXXXX 0000YYYY = 16Bit Write
      2TXXXXXX YYYYYYYY = 32Bit Write
      8ZZZXXXX YYYYYYYY = Search Type

      Multi Write
      4TXXXXXX YYYYYYYY
      4NNNWWWW VVVVVVVV

      Copy Bytes
      5TXXXXXX ZZZZZZZZ
      5TYYYYYY 00000000

      Codes that start with 3, 6, 7, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F are not supported.

By the way, beside the limitation listed above, the codes found here: thegamegenie.com/ps3
are partial codes... they are listing just the first line of the cheat

Should be in this format. You missed out on the save data file part.

      Example.
      Code:
      ;Game Title/Name
      ;Game ID
      ;Auther/Source

;It is required to add the file name/pattern (:filename). If the line is omited, the code will be applied to the first file found in the folder (excluding param.sfo, param.pfd, icon0.pfd, eboot.bin, eboot.elf)
;Supports a folder name/pattern as filter (similar to Path: <folder> filter).
      ;Example :MRTC00001-FIXED-\SYS-DATA

      Path: MRTC00001-FIXED-

      ;Game Genie Code
:PLAY.DAT ;Needed Save Data Name. Only Need to declare once.

by the way, if there are unknown codes to bsd, i would suggest applying first cheats with gg and then comparing to untouched save. this way you can find the codes and offsets. i think there are only a handful games which have superior security

      edit
one game that has problems i came across is silent hill downpour. it has some things in savefile which must also be changed

So the codes found in that page wont work if you manually add them to your save? Guess that kinda explains things... been trying to use some of the codes for Ni No Kuni from the game genie page and they just wont work, but I tried some from Skiller's website and those worked right away. Is there a way to find out the full code?

BTW thank you Aldo and Skiller for this app, it works fine in OFW.

      yes, toto67 is from psxtools.de.
And no, we don't support dongles or drm crap.

He just made a review of it, because the CUIII Team asked us.
Nothing more. So why do you hate us? I can't understand people like you.

We just want to help, so why so angry?

Dongles exist, we have to live with that

I talk about GameGenie Codes EU, we can also provide US Codes, if wished.
Only problem: we only can see the codes, if we have a savegame of the game.

But we will solve this problem too

you can easily port most of the saves vice versa. i have done it before, as i only have us gamegenie and i am german with most eu games.

you only have to edit the param.sfo and the savefolder to match the other region. nothing more. though it will not work with a few games

      44

And how can we port them?
As i said, we need a Save to edit them.

Maybe you could help us out there
Than we can provide US and EU Codes.

EDIT: Ah, we ran in a mistake here :D
Kadaji have both, US and EU GameGenie, but to view the "full" code,
we need a Savegame of the Game, otherwise we can't edit the codes.

      I Hope you understand

Keep in touch with me. I see the most of the code from EU are totally different from US. If you have a way to extract the DB, do PM me.

      Code:
      http://ps3.gamegenie.us/cheats.php?region=EU
      http://ps3.gamegenie.us/cheats.php?region=US
Please take note that the list only display first line of code I think.

If you are thinking doing it one game at a time, it is going to be very tedious and time consuming.

On a separate note, guys please stay calm. We are all on the same side.

Still searching for the DataBase, where the Codes are stored. Haxxxen helps too.

At this Moment we have 8 Games [EU].
We have some time, so we do it all manually till we found a way to extract it

EDIT: Found over 30 BLES Saves that can be found in the GameGenie List.
We will edit them manually, and hopefully find more saves

      Changes in 3.1.0:
      - It now has support for download the patch files on demand from the online database at github maintained by [MENTION=221155]gingerbread[/MENTION].

      - The database currently has the patches for approximately 170 game ids. And considering that some patches can be used also on other versions/regions of the same game, it could grow easily to near 500 game ids.

      - I also added support for listing of grouped cheats.

For example, is this Format correct?:

      ;Enchanted Arms

      ;GameGenie EU Codes

;It is required to add the file name/pattern (:filename).

      Path: BLES00049GAME002\EM_GAME.DAT

      ;Game Genie Code
:SAVE0001.SAV ;Needed Save Data Name. Only Need to declare once.

      20000070 00000000
      200200F0 00000000

The Path command is optional, and it only needs the folder name (without any file name).
The program uses it to NOT allow the cheats if a different folder name is used.
For instance, if the cheat only works in the profile folder.

A more flexible alternative to Path command is using:

      :BLES00049GAME002\EM_GAME.DAT

If only the file name is used, the folder is not validated. Example:
      :EM_GAME.DAT

If the file name is not provided, the program will use the first file found in the folder (excluding PARAM.PFD, PARAM.SFO, ICON0.PNG, EBOOT.BIN, EBOOT.ELF). I recommend to always specify at least the file name.

There is an easy way to add the console id with out the use of any other program or CFW.

first copy the save to your computer, use any methode you like.
than load the save in the brutefore and set PARAM.SFO as template.
      done (worked for me)

btw can anyone write a basic guide on how to use this correctly?

Click decrypt pfd, decrypt all files, yes.

Click cheats, if no cheats show in window click blue arrow.

Select any cheats you want and click apply, ok.

Click encrypt pfd, encrypt all files, yes.

Look inside save folder, there may be a backup of decrypted files, remove them if present.

Transfer save back to ps3, play game.

Thanks for making that patch file, unfortunately the codes had no affect.

I then compared the codes in BLUS30947.ps3savepatch to the codes in NPUB30932.ps3savepatch, and they appear to be the same.

I may be wrong but I think the NPUB version uses different codes than the BLUS version.

      3, 6, 7, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F are not supported. Unless some msessiah or prophet share information on these codetypes.

[MENTION=261113]edgereimifaize[/MENTION] FF will not work in BSD as it is a multi-level encrypted save and codetypes are not known yet.

Please from now on for posting/reporting of codes do it here. But before you post there, make sure there are in proper format. No Copy/paste. There are examples there.

Did you use the correct console_id for the global file?

i have created a cheat patch for the game Splatterhouse BLES01120/BLUS30335 myself for bsd and noticed gamegenie have forgotten something about the health cheat. :D

gamegenie has only the cheat for max health bar and not current health, but on a new game the bar stays the same as normal. only with all health upgrades the bar gets maxed on current health

i also have made a new one to unlock survival mode. i will add a cheat for the unlocked 2nd mask later.

      [MENTION=221155]gingerbread[/MENTION]
i will add the cheat to your git myself, no worries

      [MENTION=100038]aldostools[/MENTION]
i have noticed some minor bug, or it is intended, i don't know. the cheats can only be applied successfully, if the hex offsets for the cheats are sorted in proper order, the same as they appear in the savefile. i mean, gamegenie have made a different order, and if i want to apply the cheats like them, it does not work and the patching gets messed.
on the other hand, your search and patch engine works great

here is the patch (works also for BLUS30335):

on the other hand, your search and patch engine works great
Could you PM me (or post here) the working cheat and the one not working, to compare them and check if there is something wrong in the patch engine?

By the way, you find it better, I could implement some (human readable) scripting language to patch the codes, instead of use cryptic numbers of GameGenie

the cheats for splatterhouse i have posted, are working fine now for bsd. even the max blood code from gamegenie, that i have changed. they are using a jump back operation with a codetype 93000000 and i have used a search pattern which is common in this savefile

but if you compare the [Unlock Classics] code i have posted and the original gamegenie one, you maybe notice yourself...i have slightly changed the order, but according to hex offsets in the savefile

      in detail:
Splatterhouse1 classics unlock option is for example at offset 00000275. but the next classics option is not Splatterhouse2, but Splatterhouse3 at offset 000002F8. Splatterhouse2 classic option is at offset 000006F4. now if i want to sort it like unlock 1,2,3 (00000275, 000006F4, 000002F8) the bsd will mess the patching. but if i do sort them in the cheat file according to the real offsets in savefile, it works fine.

i hope you understand what i am saying

a new scriptfile function would be fine, but is not that important to me, as i can handle hex quite well i think. and also i like these hex numbers somehow

Currently in BSD, the search start from the last pointer position.
If in GameGenie you can have the options sorted as 1, 2, 3, then that means that 8zzzXXXX codes starts to search from offset 0.

Please, confirm me if I'm right to update the patch engine... since it is very important to make the cheats that use the search code work properly.

ah, this is exactly what i have meant. i thought the bsd would also search every time for every code from offset 0. but this happens only if there are more offsets to patch in a single code. for different codes the engine works fine.

about your new function, it is really useful. sorry that i have wrote this stupid comment. maybe this way others will try to make cheats for it. but unluckily not many saves have texts and options like splatterhouse savefile. for example darkness 2 settings file can be opened even in notepad++ and it will be parsed correctly.

Thanks for the confirmation. The new build 3.4.4 now always searches starting from offset 0.

The human readable script commands are also implemented, so your code:
      Code:
      8001000C 616C7468
      55706772 61646532
      0800000D 00000001
      Can be written like this:
      Code:
      search "althUpgrade2"
      write next (13): 01
