The Xbox-ONE controller it's over the CPU.

I had to post this. It’s PAX they showed some BF4 gameplay and guess what? everything got messed up. They were using a PC with a Xbox ONE controller and in one time the game Crashed….showing Windows 8 screen.

    To quote:

Not surprising news, DICE and Microsoft promised the players to test their Xbox One games on actual Xbox One platform at PAX Prime but again after E3′ s disappointment the players surprised at PAX that they are playing battlefield 4 on PC with the E3 build of the game.

BlindSpider11 has wrote his “review” at Reddit:

-Running on PC’s with Xbox One controllers.

-Seems to be the E3 build. Battlefield 3 style death animation, “Battlefield 4 at E3″ banner upon death, etc.

    -Resolution was set to 1920X1080

And the funny thing, The game was crashed during playing and exit to a windows 8 desktop, And when you died it showed the BF4 @ E3 ad. So it’s the E3 PC demo with an Xbone controller hooked up.

This screens explain some points by “NeoGaf“:

Game Crashed. Windows 8 in the background.

Most possibly it's a devkit, they look like normal PCs and they might run on Win8 too.

Yes. Thinking the same...but using E3 in PAX leads me to think that they don't give a fudge about making a good impression.
At least Ubisoft had no problem to show they were with keyboard and mice with Watchdogs.

Doesn't look like a dev kit. Looks more like an unbranded alienware

Mind you, this definitely isn’t the first time that a “console version” of a next gen game is caught running on PC with controllers attached. Just to bring an example the “PS4 version” of Watch_Dogs was running in the same way at the Ubisoft booth at Gamescom, as I could personally verify, but at least in that case Sony or Ubisoft didn’t make much of a big deal of it, nor hid the keyboards, that were in plain sight.
      Could be both.
Who knows what's the case have?...

Btw it's a cooler master case or some NXZT full tower...Lian li (i doubt so) Check those frontal USB 3.0 ports with a Razer keyboard.

Case is a Corsair C70. I wonder how bad xbox one owners will feel when they get the game and it doesn't look as good.

so what's the diffrence than between pc and xbox?? it's the same hardware put in a metal/plastic box runnig on win8, but just without all the stuff regular PC has. meh...xbox one looks to me now like a future steam console.

I agree. Though i think that Steam-box will crush Xbox-one in so many aspects.

There was an article that said that the PC version of BF4 was getting extra love, in form of higher res-ed textures ... so in the end, it is a nasty, misleading, but mostly false advertising.

If you planning to waste almost 400 u$s or even more on a new VGA.
Well you clearly see all the beauty of frost engine 2.
If not you can "die" like the rest with mid-end VGA.

I own a 560 GTX and i doubt i will "move" this game better than BF3.

Reminds me of E3 when Nintendo was showing N64 and got caught with other hardware. Although this is quite different as the hardware nin was hiding was way better than N64 specs.

Look at it from game dev perspective. And i mean devs, not publishers, they work they **** out to make the game best they cane, they have deadlines. Then comes a marketing guy and says they need a demo for e3. So they have to make a pretty much new game, cut out stuff since it's a demo, quickly finish **** to look good for e3 etc. then just a few months later comes a marketing guy again. Now you need to make pax demo and make it an xbox one demo... Now they have to stop working on a game again, to make a demo some people will play for a few days and completely forget, and it doesn't matter they keep wasting time, they'll still have to make game before release date. No wonder they showed marketing dept a finger. Prolly some morons up there wanted to score some points with ms and promised **** they can't deliver. When they realized they can't deliver they went and bs'ed clients.

Not the first time they do this. They did it at E3 as well. I think it's sad. Maybe the Xbox One version of BF4 isn't ready yet, but still, very sad.

The fact is microsoft and EA games are close allies (DRM ****) scares me a lot, I bet they are going to intentionally lower bf4 ps4 ver quality in order to make it competitive with the xbox one. we all know that xbox one and ps4 are pcs in a console cover; however, that doesnt mean that you can actually run a ps4/xbox one game on a PC! I highly doubt they used an xbox ver of the game, they just used a beta bf4 demo....

      Voice commands and TV.
There's no official software or reliable one to tell your PC to shutdown.

I tried to yell 4 times though. "****ING PIECE OF ****, SHUTDOWN!!"
      Nothing happened.

      "PC...TV!!!! MOTHER****ER!!!."
      Nothing too.

It's the only logical reason at least for me.

Xbox One Voice Commands - YouTube

If you remember that video, you only need that OS just to switch between Games/Movies/Internet (3)

Triple-OS approach is meant to work in conjunction with the console's ability to produce numerous visual "panes," which are full 1080p layers generated independently and displayed one on top of the other. These panes could could allow a user to play full-fledged Xbox games while also seeing their fantasy football app or Skype chat updating in a overlaid Windows pan.

      No they do.

PS2 Tool used a special version of Ubuntu.

Dreamcast Devkit (the one that also looked like a Pentium PC) used a proprietary build of Windows NT.

Dolphin (aka Gamecube Devkit, hence the emulator name, also looks like a home PC) used a build of Debian on old pre-release devkits and on the newer a weird proprietary version of the same thing.

XBOX [original] Devkits (the ones that once again looked like ordinary PCs) used Windows NT aswell.

From Dreamcast and after mostly all consoles have devkits that look like a PCs and actually ARE a PC with a kind of proprietary build of a known OS.

Yup don't really matter, all comes down to good games and how they run on final spec.
