Some financial problems with Dontnod. Guilbert asserted to GI.Biz today. “I cannot say that we have no financial difficulties, we have some, but I think that now they are behind us, not in front of us”.

    To quote:

Remember Me developer Dontnod Entertainment is in financial mire, but CEO Oskar Guilbert claims the company isn’t on the brink of bankruptcy. Speaking to GI.biz, Guilbert dismissed reports coming out of France today that the Parisian company is in fatal trouble after it entered “judicial reorganization” this week.

“We started new projects and those new projects need some investment and we decided to resize the company in order to match these new needs. That’s why we needed judicial reorganization,” Guilbert asserted to GI.Biz today. “I cannot say that we have no financial difficulties, we have some, but I think that now they are behind us, not in front of us.”

Judicial reorganization or redressement judiciaire is a similar process to receivership, where the French courts appoint an administrator to oversee a company’s restructuring when it has troubles paying its debts. The process can be drawn out over many months, but it’s often a precursor to liquidation.

Guilbert says Dontnod is in “close negotiations with one big partner,” presumably to take over, and in “very close negotiations for our next project with one of the top publishers.”

Despite being published by Capcom, Remember Me was a game that struggled to live up to its name, both critically and seemingly at retail; Capcom failed to even note the game in its financial brief for the quarter following its release last summer. In March 2013, Dontnod received 200,000 euros from France’s National Center of Cinematography, apparently for a separate project denoted as “What if?” – here’s hoping that isn’t an ominous name too.

A lawsuit taken against Take Two Interactive, due to the delay of GTA Online has been dismissed by a Californian court, here is a quote from the source:

On Wednesday U.S. District Court Judge Virginia A. Phillips disagreed with the plaintiff’s arguments and granted Take-Two’s motion to dismiss the case. In her decision Judge Phillips referred to the packaging for the game, which did not contain language about multiplayer being available “immediately.”

Recently rumours have surfaced, which suggest that Microsoft are planning a cheaper Xbox One model, the rumours include:

     photo AVDmdJz_zpsc280dfd2.png

    • orza Horizon: “Fall 2014, probably September. Super sexy weather system and… shit tons of co-op/social stuff. 1080P and open-world, so you can road trip with your bros.”
    • White Xbone incoming.
    • Why all the leaks? Scared you might get caught? “I am incapable of fear. Plus, this is such exciting stuff, and me talking about it ahead of time isn’t going to hurt anything, truthfully. We’re all chomping at the bit for it to come out. This is not bad. “
    • Halo Anniversary 2 will be 1080p, iffy on the 60fps, maybe not.
    • Quantum Break is Holiday 2014
    • Multiplayer confirmed for HA2, same devs as Halo Anniversary.
    • Sunset Overdrive is Fall 2014
    • Is not Phil Spencer
    • Black Tusk cancelled project was called “Shangheist.” May have involved stealing stuff from the Chinese (though I think that may have been a reference to the name and maybe not the gameplay? Not sure…)
    • Fable Legends is Summer 2015
    • Halo 2 Anniversary includes beta for Halo 5
    • Gears of War will probably need a 2.5 year dev time.
    • First Titanfall DLC is 45 days from release, then another one 120 days from release.
    • No Crackdown 3 news this year most likely, since it’s a 2016 title.
    • A list w/dates of the rest of the Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries that Xbone will release in this year.
    • No info/idea on what Rare’s up to, sadly.
    • $399 XB1 this year? “Maybe one without an Optical Disc Drive.”

The creator of PS3 ISO Tools how now released a new PC app for PS3 known as PS3 Game Updater Tool. It is basically a small tool to create and manage PS3 game updates.

    by Rudi Rastelli

    @TeamSOS for ‘Allunpkg’

    @DeLiGht for ‘psn_package_npdrm’

    @ aldostools for ‘game-database’

Obtain PS3 game update(s) by simply selecting a game in one of it’s 3 usual formats(PKG / ISO / Folder).

    Aborted downloads will be resumed

Already downloaded not outdated game-updates will be skipped

Outdated game-updates will optionally be deleted

The update-files(*.pkg) get well readable names… thx @ aldostools database

In Normal-Mode you can select which game-updates to download or not

Batch-Mode to download all updates for all(or selected) games of a game-archive

PKG-Extractor via ‘Extra’-menu (should be able to extract any “*.pkg”-file… not even update-files)

    Hopefully self-explanatory… read the tool-tips

    - Updates will be stored to the folder u’ve selected on 1st start… You can change that folder via ‘Extra’-menu

This folder is kind of an game-updates-archive.

If you don’t select anything here a “MyPS3GamesUpdates”-folder will be created and used inside progam-folder

    - Using the “Delete outdated Updates”-option in batch-mode allows you to clean up your game-updates-archive and keep it up-to-date.

Tip: To “clean up” only: Activate batch-mode -> Select your game-archiv -> Select NO game -> [Download]-Button

    - If database(‘database.txt’) isn’t there for ISOs and folders the game-name from “PARAM.SFO”, for PKGs the name of “*.pkg”-file and

for manually entering the GameID the GAMEID itself will be used.

    - In batch mode select a game-archive-folder. E.g “…/GAMES/”, “…/PS3ISO/”, “…/MyPSNGames/” etc etc

    - Extracted PKG-files will be stored in a folder with same name and at the same directory as the PKG-file

According to Gamereactor you will be able to pre order GTA V for the PC soon, this was told to them by Norwiegian retailer Elkjøp, who said they will start taking pre orders for the game this Friday, there is no proof that this story is legit, but im 98% sure we will see a PC version sometime this year, especially when you read this.

Estwald has updated Iris Manager to v2.80. The update comes with many new features including ISO name generation via PARAM.SFO. It also brings new support for PSX Cobra/Mamba

    - The ISOs now will take the title name from PARAM.SFO (so far took the file name)
and also will show the background image of the game in the Options dialog.

    - New support for PSX Cobra / Mamba from “Disc-Less Payload” : works with the same versatility
as the old, but adding PSX support PSX for NTFS/EXTx units, thanks to the new plugin that allows
you to change up to 8 ISOs of PSX ( unplugging / replugging the device NTFS / EXTx in the latter
    case to change iso)

Changes for PSX in Cobra / Mamba “Disc-Less Payload” mode with respect to the old are:

    1) All Games now use the plugin by default. The games stored in /dev_hdd0 and /dev_usb00x
can use the old emulation (PSX payload) selecting “old_emu” or “old_netemu”.

    2) To eject/insert a disc, the changes are as follows (remember that only from the Cobra/Mamba
plugin in “Disc-Less Payload” mode) :

    - If the game is in NTFS / EXTx, you must unplug / plug the USB device.

    - If the game is stored in /dev_hdd0 or /dev_usb00x, it will use the first device found with a FAT
partition (device ‘/dev_usb’ ) and if this fails, then it will use the first non-FAT USB device
connected (NTFS / EXTx for example) .

    - Remember that unpluging the LED will flash

    3) If the ps1_rom.bin is used and L2 button is held down on the pad when the game is launched,
it is also possible to run the rom from NTFS / EXTx without a CD to copy/delete the data from
the memory card that is using the game (this is useful for handling Internal_MC.VM1).
You must exit from the emulator after finishing, as the old PSX payload used.

    4) Leaving the PSX emulator it is possible to launch the game from the disc, but in doing so,
the video will be set to PAL/NTSC depending on the region of your system, and you must select
the memory card from the emulator and keep in mind that if the game does not belong to your
    region, it will freeze.

If any of you have sent your PS3 off to Sony, you know that they charge an extortionate price, but there are knowledgeable people, not employed by Sony, who offer a cheaper service and i have no doubt that many of those people do a far superior service than the Sony technicians and all in their own homes.

These guys that fix your console, do stuff like replace the rubbish thermal paste put on by Sony, replacing it with a better one, they clean out the console and make it spotless, just as it was when you bought it.

They provide services like fixing YLOD, reballs, reflows and downgrades, they use eBay to advertise their services, but it seems that eBay are planning to put a stop to that, not just the PS3, but all games consoles and other types of repair services, here is a quote from PS3HaX member James T Kirk

My account had action due to a downgrade listing. Not uncommon, it happens. However there were other things mentioned, so I called them up for clarification.

The information I received, is that the “services” section of ebay is being ended. Ebay no longer allows services of any type or form to be offered. Only tangible products.
I asked for specifics, and they stated this specifically includes:

    • downgrades
    • reflows
    • reballs
    • cleanings
    • any type of refurbishment from a non-corporate licensed service center. (explained to me that to service a sony console, must provide paperwork to ebay stating officially licensed and endorsed by Sony to perform the work)
    • car repair
    • fuel injector cleaning
    • turbo/supercharger repair
    • book repair

Any other service requiring a user to send his property in to the seller.

As you can see, this limitation is NOT limited to just consoles, it was further explained that all categories were affected.

The explanation given was that the seller then had a way to contact the buyer directly, and offer further services outside of ebay, of which ebay would not get fees. Therefore they no longer allow that type of product to be sold.

They will be removing the “services” section of their website shortly. (shortly being relative, could be months)

This isn’t the first time that a member of PS3HaX who downgrades has run into problems with their service on eBay, vb_encryption_vb has had problems with both eBay and PayPal

It seems that a bigger and more powerful a company becomes, the bigger ass hole it becomes, it forgets how it got in the position that it is in now.

Has any other PS3HaX downgrader faced the same or similar problems ?

Aldostools has updated PS3 Games Database to v1.5.2. This new update fixes a bug parsing of PKG’s (introduced with PS4 parsing).

This tool lets you create a database of PS3 games and search through it easily. You can build your own database of collected games in CSV format and use this tool to view and organize it. The db.csv included is just an example. You have to build your database yourself.
    Changelog: v1.5.2
    New features:
Fixed a regression parsing the content id of PKG, caused when I added support parsing of PS4 links

    God bless virtual cleavage.

SoniComi gets two (new) trailers, showing new outfits and some other things. Point is, those boobs. Thanks Kadokawa ;)

Kadokawa Games just released two new trailers of the upcoming PS3 exclusive Motto! SoniComi, showing off the shooting mode of the upcoming game that will be released in Japan on March 20th.

The two trailers gives us a glimpse on two outfits that tie in with the anime series that’s currently airing in the archipelago of the rising sun, a super-skimpy bikini and a maid outfit, as you can see from the accompanying screenshots.

You can check out both trailers below, but be advised that the first one, dedicated to the bikini, may be considered slightly not safe for work, depending on your workplace. And if you’re wondering, I didn’t select the screenshots, they’re official assets from the developer.
