zecoxao ported flat_z’s EID Root Key Dumper to CFW 4.21, 4.46 and 4.53, allowing root EID key extraction without need for downgrade.

Update: zecoxao added a port to 4.65 (also in the links).

Thank's for your all root_key dumper.

I have test it on CFW 4.21, 4.46 ans 4.65 with correct homebrew but when I'm connect on FTP, I don't have the root key on my dev_hdd0 on directory tmp.

The homebrew run correctly, I have black screen and 3 "bips" and after I return on XMB

You will find your root key at dev_hdd0/game/FLTZ00010/USRDIR.

Great job zecoxao. I knew if anyone could do it, it would be you.

pustal can you update the OP with the 4.65? Last time I tried editing news, I think I messed it up. LOL.

Yes is it true for the EID Root_key Dumper 4.50 made by Flat_z, but for other I read on an other site we did go on dev_hdd0 --> tmp

EDIT: Yes it's ok, I have look on my PS3 4.65 Cobra, and I found the root_key, thanks

Yes for the homebrew on 3.55, that's right we must go to directory tmp on dev_hdd0.

that is weird, i cannot get rootkey from this pkg. those two i have made work fine though.

are you really sure, you get rootkey on 4.21 with this pkg?
can you try again for me on 4.21 and delete rootkey in pkg folder if it is already in place? maybe it is only because of cobra using, that pkg does not work for me.

he can because i also asked harryoke to test in rebug and the keys match.
also, i already told you you don't need all the symbols to make it work, but i can say it again. and of course it doesn't work on DEX because the kernel changes a lot.

and i can tell you again, that your pkg does not work if i use cobra 4.21 rex, but those i have made work fine with 4.21 cobra. and i have made them for either cex or dex kernel and both work fine on my end. i can only guess, that cobra needs more symbols.

anyways, sorry for confusion, cause i have got now my confirmation. i only have thought it is not working at all on 4.21, cause you have not mentioned any tests that were done

For me the homebrew on 4.21 work fin with CFW Rebug 4.21.2 with Target ID on CEX, I didnt' test on DEX but on Brewlogy it's mentionne to work only CEX.

And I have tested on CFW 4.65 Cobra too with the good homebrew, it's work fine too.

For me all homebrews work fine on all CFW. good job zecoxao I released it on my website

But you give brewology too much credit. It might have been where you first heard about it... But this has been going on right here at home on Our very own forums for a few days. Pkgs and Source Code: [PROJECT] eid key dumper 4.60/4.65 Technically I'd think we're the source. And yesterday zecoxao dropped most of the dumper pkgs in one message/comment.

If you're on 4.46, then use the 4.46 pkg.. I don't think you'd need to disable spoof to dump your ERK, but it's not a bad idea.

This is the key that decrypts everything in your PS3. It is console specific.

With this key, you can connect your PS3s internal HDD to your PC and be able to read everything on it. You can also use the key to convert your CEX PS3 to DEX. Among other things.

Yep Google seems to be working fine, why do you ask? Anyhow, thanks for the info. This will now make dumping .rif's and act files for purchased PSN games from non CFW'd PS3's doable for everyone.

Because you could have searched Google for "what is PS3 eid_root_key used for" and the 2nd hit should probably be the same link playerkp420 gave you.
If you checked some of the other search hits that pop up, you could have even gotten a quicker and more comprehensive answer than you got by asking here and waiting a day.

You'd need to be on CFW to use this in the first place.
And No, The only way to Go from OFW to CFW is with a flasher unless the OFW is 3.55 or lower. No Exceptions.

So, if I'd dumped my end a while back, can't remember which firmware I was on, is there any way to sign an update to take me back to cfw?

I was thinking about the case when you have this key but the console is accidentally updated againg . Answer to this is NO , because the syscon that holds the firmware data is on the motherboard , not the hdd . So it is only possible with flasher , i realise my question was stupid

Not sure if the last post was aimed at me or not?

My previous posts are all messed up, replies aren't working for some reason on my mobile.

I wasn't asking about using this, obviously cfw is needed to install and run as it requires peek/poke.

I remember a long while back, everyone was saying once we have per console keys, Sony can't stop us as we can re-sign everything per system.

I remember something about key_0 being the absolute top level, nothing can stop me, Sonys my *****, one key to lube them all. But this is used to decrypt eid (it's been a while and I'm not very bright). There was talk that the eid was tied to key_0 due to another flaw of Sonys and key_0 could be achieved with eid key. People did achieve this not long after it was rumoured, but I think it takes a bit of work, obviously not alot on this was made open to general users. people with a bit of understanding would be able to get it though.

Anyways, this eid key does not allow someone to sign an update per their system (if they already have the key) but no longer on cfw?
