As you must of noticed that for access to third party apps like Youtube, Netflix and Amazon Instant Video, You would need to login to psn.

    Well things has changed,

Thanks to Strictlyfocused and bitsbubba, the restriction has been remove for the following apps Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Crunchroll, Crackle, Snagfilms, hulu+ and IGN

Strictlyfocused first posted a patch for Amazon and netflix  app with tutorial on how to do this.

    Quoted from psx-scene

Just so its documented, here are the steps I’ve been using to patch these:

    1. Download and extract npdtoolv4d (npdtool - edat/sdat tool (w/ compression supported))
    2. copy the original spark.cfg.sdat from your PS3 to the same directory as npdtool.exe (usa version spark.cfg.sdat is under /dev_hdd0/game/NPUP10021/USRDIR/data/config)
    3. Open a command prompt and navigate to the npdtool.exe directory
    4. Run this command (keep cmd prompt open after) - npdtool ds spark.cfg.sdat spark.cfg
    5. Open spark.cfg in notepad++ or whatever editor you like
    6. Change “requirePSN” from “true” to “false” and save your change
    7. Delete the original spark.cfg.sdat file
    8. In the command prompt you left open, run this command - npdtool 4s spark.cfg spark.cfg.sdat 8000
    9. Copy the newly created spark.cfg.sdat back to your PS3 where you got the original and now you can use Amazon Instant with no PSN login requirement

I figured out how to remove the PSN login requirement for Netflix. Here is the patched app.sprx for the lazy.

    Code:
    https://mega.co.nz/#!EpInxQRK!Y1OQsZ2Ywd8BELJByO955RciEH0fzU3rBFyqlvtKhNA

So its documented, here are the steps I used to patch out the login requirement for USA v2.19 Netflix

    • Grab app.sprx from /dev_hdd0/game/NPUP00030/USRDIR/
    • Download TrueAncestor SELF Resigner v1.91 and extract it
    • Copy app.sprx into the “self” folder where ever you extracted TrueAncestor to
    • Launch TrueAncestor and choose option 4 “Decrypt SELF/SPRX Only”
    • Choose your app.sprx (should be #1)
    • Copy/paste into notepad the values of “ContentID” and “Klicensee” it shows
    • - eg. UT0007-NPUP00030_00-NETFLIXRIGEL01NA
    • - eg. 7AC7E325735C754B8C7F7984819B0A48
    • Close TrueAncestor
    • Open the app.prx that was just created in a hex editor (I used HxD)
    • Ctrl-F and text-string search for “PSNLoginRequired=true”
    • Move your cursor to the beginning of the word “true” and type “false”. It will insert the characters as you type.DO NOT delete the word “true”, let it overwrite it.
    • Save your changes and close the hex editor
    • Go back to the “self” folder and delete/rename your original app.sprx
    • Launch TrueAncestor again and pick option 8 “Custom Sign to NPDRM SELF/SPRX”
    • Choose your edited app.prx (should be #1)
    • Paste in the values of the ContentID and Klicensee that we saved earlier
    • Copy the new app.sprx that gets generated over to your PS3
    • Enjoy PSN-less Netflix

With the help of Strictlyfocused tutorial,  bitsbubba was able to remove restriction for the rest of the apps,  So far he has  got 8 working with more to follow if he finds them

    Here Are The Downloads

Evilnat, developer of SEN Enabler (multi-functional PS3 homebrew tool that assists in accessing PSN for online gaming on custom firmware), has released the anticipated update to support CFWs 4.70. Alongside, he also fixed the spoof error 80710A06 for all CFW CEX/DEX (less 3.55), and added various requested features! More information from the quote below:

    DON’T USE PUBLIC IDS
    DISABLE ANY SPOOF BEFORE

    Improvements v5.8.0

    • Added support for CFWs 4.70
    • Fixed spoof error 80710A06 for all CFW CEX/DEX (less 3.55)
    • Deleted flash write option
    • Added option to patch all (Less MAC)
    • Fixed bug while enabling access on Cobra DEX CFWs
    • [Requested] Added option for custom spoof
    • [Requested] Added 9.99 Spoofer
    • [Requested] Added option to restore default spoof
    • [Requested] Added option to choose image version
    • [Requested] Added option to choose version
    • [Requested] Added option to choose passphrase

It tooks some weeks to add new features and with new OFW 4.70 and patched spoofers, i had a lot of work to do quickly, sorry to all who have been waiting this release, it has so much work behind. This version of SEN Enabler has spoof fix to avoid 0x80710A06for all CFW less 3.55, there are many fixes to avoid this error, these are two examples:

    Method 1:

To make this you need to patch vsh.elf from 0x801E0040 to 0×38000000, search 0x7C7B1B78419E0260 in hexadecimal and add 8 bytes, there need to be patched. This patch can be done on LV1, for 4.55 is on offset 0xB7221C.

    Method 2

To make this you need to patch vsh.elf from 0x419E0014 to 0x409E0014, search 0x7C7B1B78419E0260 in hexadecimal and add 16 bytes, there need to be patched. This patch can be done on LV1, for 4.55 is on offset 0xB72224.

I added more spoofs options, some people requested a few ones, like 9.99 SpooferCustom SpoofRestore default spoofCustom Image version , Custom version and Custom Passphrase, i have more requests in my “to do” list, if you don’t see your request in this release will be ready in the next one

    • 9.99 Spoofer: If you use this spoof, DON’T TRY TO GO ONLINE!!!, this is only for people who have childs or don’t like to update PS3 FW by mistake, if you try to go online with this spoof YOU WILL BE BANNED
    • Custom Spoof: You can choose predefined Image versionVersion and Passphrase on Spoof options menu. When you have selected your choice press triangle to do a Custom spoof with your selecteds options
    • Restore default spoof: This option will reset any other SEN Enabler’s spoof to his default one, with Image version and Version (For example, if you are on 4.50 with 4.70 spoofed, will reset 4.70 spoofs to 4.50)
    • Image version / Version / Passphrase: This can be selected in spoof optiones menu, you can select your choice, passphrase has only two options, Last and Old, the first one enables SEN access and the second one disables SEN access, a spoof to 4.70 is needed

Enable/Disable Flash write is deleted and never will be back, is replace by Patch all task, this will patch ConsoleID, PSID, hide CFW data, delete temp folders and set mode of your choice (OFW, CFW, APP, PACKAGE) in one button, this doesn’t patch MAC, you need to do this first if you want a custom MAC

For those who doesn’t know how to enable SEN access, go to SEN/PSN Options and select Enable SEN/PSN access (pressing  twice in main menu)

Remember to use Charles Proxy now along with SEN Enabler and block three URLs (you can add more if you want), this software will minimize ban risk, but a ban is not 100% avoided on CFW

Block all these URLs on Charles or similar:

    • https://es.np.adproxy.ndmdhs.com:443 (Maybe you need to change “es” to your region, “us”, etc…)

Yes you can now run PSP ISO’s on any OFW PS3 that is on fw 4.66 or below. This will also work on 4.70 but not straight forward coz idpsStealer got patched on fw 4.70 so you need fw 4.66 or below to start and how to do this? Well SkyBladeCloud over at wololo.net has posted a nice video tutorial on how to do this.

    To quote

Here are a couple of complementary tutorials that I recently made. I don’t really know if they can participate on the contest, since they are video-tutorials, but I think the PS3 community is not really well aware of the latest advances in the scene regarding OFW thanks to Kakaroto’s ps3xport.

These tutorials aim to expose the potential of that release, explaining how to play PSP Minis/Remasters on a OFW PS3.
The first video shows how to obtain some necessary information, while the second one covers ISO conversion and installation.

Similar processes exist to run (compatible) PS3 and PSX games on OFW PS3, but (at least on my research) not from discs rips, so obtaining the backup itself could be considered piracy, I guess. As for PSP, any UMD rip should be possible to install following the next tutorials:

Obtaining the IDPS, user number and HDD backup:

Converting and installing a PSP game for an OFW PS3:

    Credits:
    KaKaRoTo, for ps3Xport
    flatz, for the IDPS stealer
Aldo and co., for the PSP2PS3 conversion suite
the dark programmer, for the ps3Xport GUI

    I hope you like it:

If you are having problems, lets us know. Though we don’t have reports of many PS4/PS3 users having this issues with Hulu and Netflix.

    To quote:

Viewers complained Tuesday that they were unable to access some of their favorite online streaming services like Netflix and Hulu from smart devices made by Sony.
Samsung’s service was also apparently affected, according to users on Twitter.

Netflix said on its Twitter feed that it was aware that viewers in the U.S. and Canada are having problems streaming on some Sony devices, and said it would be back up soon. It reported hours later that the streaming issues had been resolved.

One viewer wrote that she was unable to access Netflix using a Sony Blu-ray player, and kept getting the message, “the network connection cannot be reached” despite being connected to the Internet.

Hulu also referred a user of a Blu-ray disc player to Sony as it said the consumer electronics company ”is experiencing difficulties.”

Some Sony Bravia smart TV users also reported connectivity problems.

Users suggested that the outage was because of problems with servers that handle streaming services.

Sony confirmed on its Twitter feed that it was aware of an issue and is working to resolve it as soon as possible. It did not specify the nature of the problem.

Samsung did not immediately comment. Its Smart Hub is a smart TV platform that lets users search and access content including apps.

Sony in Japan said it could comment only after checking with colleagues in the U.S

Here is what the developer has to say about it.

I have decided to give this project a new name. This was not an easy decision but still a necessary one.

The new name will be Movian

The reasons for this is mainly that the name Showtime is used by a big US TV network. Thus it is currently hard to find Showtime by just googling it. Also, as I plan to release Showtime in various app stores in near future it may result in naming conflicts or even rejections.

The transition will be gradual with changes both to the application itself and this website which will eventually be migrated into https://movian.tv

Hopefully it should be as transparent and painless as possible for the users.

More updates will follow as the migration continues.

You can follow Movian’s Twitter account at https://twitter.com/movianplayer

    Thanks,
    Andreas - Project leader

Kazuo Hirai, Sony’s CEO claimed last Wednesday that they’d no longer pursue sales growth on TV and smartphone markets, investing instead on more profitable businesses such as camera sensors and entertainment, specially Playstation. Hirai also claimed that Sony’s subsidiaries would be given greater autonomy to make their own business decisions and that he would not “rule out considering an exit strategy”.

I remember the time when the quality and name of a hardware company would be publicly set by to its products duration and reliability. With time, the industry adapted to Moore’s law and took advantage of public enthusiasm and adoption in the quotidian and redefined the rules.

Top companies offer hardware power and innovation (even if small or recycled) above all and, although reliability is still assured to a reasonable extent, duration is usually set aside. Worse than that even, some companies even plan short deprecations of products, such as Apple and their iDevices which will only be updatable until Apple believes it’s time for users to invest in a newer model, even though their old one has still perfectly decent hardware power for a modern smartphone.

Consoles though are an exception to most mass retail personal technology. They are supposedly design to be used in a medium range life-span  (say 8 to 10 years), even though general purpose personal computers may gain advantage at some point. For those of limited budget and that seek to be able to play most recent games in detriment of an enhanced visual experience in long-term its quite a good option.

Consoles also provide a huge opportunity to AAA game developers for their life span and mostly because they present themselves like a platform that unlike the PC have a secure, closed and without alternative channel of distribution, being that retail or digital online (even at a cost of a big slice to the manufacturer).

Now this assurance gave manufacturers a great deal of paranoia, understandable to some point. And that is why we have stuff like the draconian Sony TOS for Playstation devices that try to put the users in a position of losing their ownership rights to their machines, all in fear of potential threats to their sovereignty. Others, like Microsoft even see the possibility of open usage of the console even a bigger threat than the risk of unauthorised game distribution alone.

This sovereignty isn’t unique to the console world. Back to the world of smartphones, another example would be Samsung, which include in their high end devices a system lock, the Knox counter, triggered by any non-Samsung ROM flash and which will prevent any flash back to stock firmware impossible even if updating a previous stock version to a more recent one. A more subtle measure than Sony’s or Microsoft’s but cleverly aimed to dissuade tempering with the system, and that I’d argue with a more strong psychological result.

Most of the biggest hardware providers have now this kind of approach of trying to assert some kind of dominance of the consumer in some way or another. An approach that consumer market tolerates. Most people are unaware and don’t really care much and others, even if resentful, end up tolerating all the same, due to lack of choice. Most of us here aren’t mostly pleased with Sony, but we’re still using and probably buying Playstation devices.

I say this atitude won’t favor them in the long run. People are becoming more political and idealist at a considerably fast rate in an historical perspective, partially due to growing technology means and partially due to the global context, and, at a much slower rate, yet steady, are becoming more informed (even with strong misinformation from counter-cultural movements). I believe there will be a point when the standard consumer will not tolerate manufactor oppression, and will opt and demand hardware liberated to a reasonable degree at the very least.

Sony believed this once. The fact that Playstation 3 could run another operating system, installed and managed by the user is proof of that. After all, a brand that acts in consumer favor in a way that creates a healthy relationship with it generates a much more stable costumer loyalty. But it didn’t last… It didn’t last because of fear, fear of circumvention of copyright protection and failure, failure of understanding or caring to see what motivates what industry coined as piracy. Failure to see that not everyone who can get their software illigetimaly for free will necessarely get it for free, that most of people who can effortlessly pay will pay and mostly those who can’t pay and are unhappy or feel abused by the prices set by them and the lack of competition and that given a chance or a fair price would actually wish to pay. And I say failure to see or caring to see because this particular industry still mostly aims at a younger target that most certainly has difficulty to pay a small fortune for a videogame (I often wonder if videogames were cheaper wouldn’t they  sell more copies and have a similar revenue).

Again, I feel we are heading to a turning point, but at a very slow pace. But I feel we can catalyse it. If people were informed about the “control freakness” of these companies and the ways they operate, they will most certainly care in general. And if most people start to care, the industry will mostly be forced to change their ways again. We need to spread it and ignite the debate. That’s what I believe most recent ciber-attacks are aimed for, but I say that is not the way, we need to use proper, legitimate channels not to suffer demonisation and disregard for our arguments. We need to spread knowledge by simply informing people around us and letting them do the same. We need to take advantage of the social technology we now have access to. We need to capture the good attention of the media, that will condemn any ciber-terrorist act but will take the public opinion as their own without a second thought. Only then we can have a balanced debate.

Here we go again with another update for this awesome app by xXx THE DARKPROGRAMMER xXx

Hello Ps3 Scene Heres a Little Update To PeXploit

So a lot of new work has gone into this release to give u more support

Okay So As Of Now I Added Alot Of New Feutures Including batch pkg install (packed)
basicly it means the .pkg files no need to extract them before hand

    Changelog
    ====V0.5=====
    Added Built In edat creator
    Added Built in pkg decryptor
Added Alot of new code and futures
    Added A idps viewer

tried not to compromise the orginal way of installing pkg files so for those of you who want to still use the old way its still possible but no batch install for the original way for now

A Big thanks for this release
pink,psdev,flatz,jappi88,aldo, and all the other devs i might have forgotten
