Last year, Dashhacks opened a git repository, for PS3 developers, but after the site was sold, the repository died, now the admin of the PS3 Dev Wiki defyboy has opened his own repository and you can guarantee that it wont die, to visit it/contribute, go here:

For a few days, the PS3 Dev Wiki was down due to hosting problems and a lot of information seemed to be lost, but thanks to the hard work of the Wiki’s admin defyboy and a backup from a member called TMAnd, only a couple of days work was lost, you can read about it on this thread.
So thank you defyboy and TMAnd for rescuing all those precious edits
I would like to point out, that the PS3 Dev Wiki is a community effort, without the work and dedication of a lot of developers and PS3 enthusiasts, the wiki would be quite empty, so if you are doing work on the PS3, keep it documented on the Wiki
You can visit the Wiki here:
PS3 Dev WikiI would like to give thanks to euss, deroad, defyboy, Lady Anne Blunt, sandungas and the many other editors who keep the Wiki alive.

We never post PSP News, but this one is quite interesting, developer Sonywiz has updated his PSP Emulator for Windows, here is a quote from the source:
This version has major improvements:
- Module loading (this allow more games to run, including some software like PRX Decrypter or LUA Player)
- Automatical EBOOT decryption. It will decrypt EBOOTs on the fly. This will allow lots and lots of new games to start running. (But still requires some work to get most of them ingame).
- Note: with those improvements I have noticed lots of games start running, and some more starting like: Princess Crown and Ys The Ark of Napishtim.
Minor improvements:
- Now you can drag & drop executable files on the emulator window
- Implemented bltzal/bltzall required for some games
- Implemented DXT1
- Fixed DX3 RB
- Added lots of new APIs and fixed some of them.
- Added a new versioning system. Releases now are denoted by the date eg: 20120407, git revision: 959572e63973662303c2dfd80f6fb60eaebb4072, and now also a count revision r256. This is an incremental number that indicates the number of commits to the repository.

As we don’t post PSP news, Avanaboys software was neglected, i had a chance to test it with this Emulator, here is a video of that in action:

Rtype a developer from PSX Scene has compiled Hatari for the PS3, Hatari is an Atari Emulator, here is a quote from the read me:
————————————————————
A Lame hatari 1.6.1 DBG release for PS3.
————————————————————
What?: A quick port of hatari 1.6.1 to ps3 using PSL1GHTV2.
Why? : Because i like old atari computer
Who? : RtypeSo far ,i ve just compil the lastest hatari src (1.6.1) with psl1ghtv2 (SDL used) and i only make few hacks to done it work (a little) .
All the credit to the HATARI TEAM ( http://hatari.tuxfamily.org ) and to the PS3DEV team .————————————————————
Know Problems:
- Works only with a keyboard & a mouse cnx to the ps3 !
- Some pb with SDL1.2 hatari code (ex: code Keysym 1.2 different from 1.3) so i make quick dirty hack , not all the keys are working
and it’s seem to break a lot keyrepeat .- Hatari & sdlgui use partial screen update , and PS3 SDL don’t have hardware cursor code , so i make another quick & very bad hack to
show something we can call a mouse pointer (hum i know it’s a square) and force the gui redraw , this make the gui very bad and slow,
and there is a big lag between mouse action and screen update. Apologize for this.- In fullscreen mode Gui seem not working correctly so change to desktop mode if needed.
- XMB seem to freeze PS3 when calling from home button so exit from the gui or AltGr-Q combo.
- I ve not tested all the option , just few games , so maybe other pb around …
Sorry for all this problems but i hope you enjoy anyway ( i mean Atari lovers ) somes old good games .
————————————————————
Quick Install & Start:
- Create somes dir in /dev_hdd0/ :
/dev_hdd0/HOMEBREW and /dev_hdd0/HOMEBREW/ST/ and /dev_hdd0/HOMEBREW/ST/TOS/ and /dev_hdd0/HOMEBREW/ST/CONF/
- Put a valid tos named “rom” in:
/dev_hdd0/HOMEBREW/ST/TOS/
- Put some ST/MSA dsk in :
/dev_hdd0/HOMEBREW/ST/
- Install the pkg .
————————————————————
INGAME CONTROLS :
works only with a keyboard & a mouse !

Coveman has released Open PS2 Loader for Cobra USB, to quote:
* You don’t need SWAP MAGIC
* You don’t need any optical disc at all in your PS3
* Works on PS3 non-BC (tested on my SLIM) (CobraUSB required)I created an “Open PS2 Loader” ISO file, so you can just load it from Cobra Manager or multiMAN.
Just extract the .rar and transfer it to your internal HDD to /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO
I included the cover so you can either put it in /covers_retro/psx/SLES_806.08_COV.JPG or rename it to “Open PS2 Loader.jpg” and put it along side the ISO in PS2ISO foler.

Note: This only works with CobraUSB Dongle

ScummVM has been massivley updated in celebrations of their 10 year anniversary.
To quote:
It has been over 10 years. We are here thanks to the work of 131 developers. 49,124 commits were made just to the ScummVM tree and those turned into a massive 1,085,714 lines of code (excluding comments) and of course over 7.6 million downloads from the main site alone. I would say those were a great ten years.
The outcome is ScummVM 1.4.0 which we are releasing today, 11/11/11 11:11:11.11.
More games are supported: Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos (based on the same engine as Kyrandia), the kids’ game Blue’s Birthday Adventure, and the science fiction game Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch. On top of that, practically all supported Sierra SCI games now have their Amiga versions working. Our musically inclined users will notice PC speaker support in Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, CMS support in Loom, The Secret of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, fixed MIDI in the DOS versions of the Elvira series, and even sound in Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood!

* Added: “Create ISO” option in SIDE menu when BD/DVD is selected in VIDEO column or PLAYSTATION/PLAYSTATION2 is selected in Game column
* Added: “Create ISO” option in File Manager’s context menu when /dev_bdvd is selected
* Added: Creating ISO files bigger than 4GB to USB HDD will result in splitting in segments .iso.0, .iso.1 … .iso.31
* Added: Advanced option in XMMB Settings: “Expand Contents of XMMB media columns”
* Added: SD/SDHC, CF and MS/MSPRO devices to Photo/Music/Video columns
* Added: Standalone Web-Browser application with FTP (BROWSER.SELF) to avoid all memory issues
* Added: Support for launching PSX games from CD-R discs (XMMB Game Column and other display modes)
* Added: Launching directly ps1_emu.self or ps1_netemu.self from file manager will make multiMAN assign your Memory Cards properly, too
* Added: Options to set preferred Video Mode for PAL and NTSC PSX titles (default/480/576/720/1080)
* Added: peeklv1 and pokelv1 commands to control console

* Changed: Improved the looks of the old debug font, used in some dialogs and file manager
* Changed: multiMAN starts faster now
* Fixed: Unnecessary auto-refresh/scan for content on each startup
* Fixed: Browsing for ROMS in ZIP formatAll features related to PSX discs require firmware 3.55 (kmeaw/rebug).
At the moment, the update is online via PS3 only, the full version will be uploaded here.
To play PS1 discs you must be on 3.55CFW and use PS1 backup burned to CD-R disc (using bin+cue as source in IMAGE BURNING mode). It doesn’t work for PS2 games. It doesn’t work for PSP games. You can’t mount an ISO from the HDD.
UPDATE 1:
Another quick update to multiMAN:
* Improved detection of PSX discs (reading one sector to verify region/type)
* Detection of possible user-errors when editing options.ini
* Removed copying options.ini/options_default.ini from connected usb drives during startup -

Team Emulatemii has given us an update to their N64 emulator. They’ve recently stated that the N64 emulator is nearing completion, and after fixing a couple of minor errors, it will be released. However they do say that they’re also busy with other things, so it is progressing at a low pace.
The Wii64 port to PS3 now has a near-complete hardware renderer since our last post. However, the dynarec needs some work to run on a 64bit PPC architecture. The Pure Interpreter core has little (if any) performance increase over the Wii running the same core, so PS364 really needs the dynarec.
Great news indeed. Stay tuned for more exciting updates with us @PS3hax

PCE Emu, now here is an emulator we haven’t heard anything about in a good while. Well, it is now at V1.40. Here’s some info of what this emulator is about for those who may have forgot or those who haven’t heard of this great emulator yet.
PCE.emu is a PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 emulator written in C++ for Android, iOS, WebOS and PS3. It uses the emulation backend from Mednafen and is built on top of the Imagine engine. The source is released under the GPLv3 license.
Main Features:
Accurate emulation and high compatibility rate (Note: Data swapped TG16 roms are not supported, see known issues below for a fix if you’re getting a black screen on load)
Backup memory and save state support, auto-save and ten manual slots for save states
Supports ROM-based games in .pce and .sgx formats, optionally in .zip files
CD emulation via loading CUE or TOC+BIN files (select a system card rom in the options, for versions <= 1.3.0: place syscard.pce in same directory as CUE file)About Save Games:
A standard .sav file is created for games using internal battery backup memory
Save states are named .ncq for the auto-save slot, and .ncX where X is the slot number for manual saves.Performance Notes (as of version 1.3.0):
PS3: 60fps with hucards & CDs.

We all know deank is probably the most dedicated PS3 Developer there is on the PS3 Scene, whether it be big updates, or minor updates, he is always working on multiMAN, today he releases version 02.07.00 which is a huge update, here is a quote from the change log:

* Added: LV2 access rights to use LV1 Storage Manager (syscall 864)
* Added: LV1 patch for user access to sys_storage functions (syscalls 600 to 623)* The above two for regular users mean:
* Thanks to graf_chokolo and the SACD-Ripper guys!
* -> Access to all types of optical discs inside multiMAN (file/folder mode):
* -> Copy/Backup of Blu-ray Movie Discs (decryption may be required on PC) (previously possible only via OtherOS)
* -> Copy/Backup of DVD-Video discs (decryption may be required on PC)
* -> Copy/Backup of PSX and Playstation 2 Discs
* -> Access to AACSMKB_RO.inf on a Blu-ray movie disc to restore lost DRL1/DRL2
* -> Direct playback of movies/music (avi, mkv, etc) from BD-R/BD-RE/DVD-R/DVD-RW via Showtime for multiMANThat’s about it. In short it means that you can now access and copy files/folders from any optical disc (be it to rip a blu-ray movie or transfer a backup of PS3 game from DVD or BDR to your ps3, watch videos in Showtime, etc)
The download is yet not available, but will be released later today.
UPDATE 1:
Please update to 02.07.01 if you installed 02.07.00.
The link below will take you to the updated with links to 02.07.01 UPD/BASE/FULL.
There was an issue, which caused some games to error out with weird messages (because of the storage manager intervention). Sorry about that.
You can also update online to 02.07.01.

Deank as always, is working hard on bringing improvements to his awesome piece of Homebrew, this minor update, removes the old FTP sever and implements jjolano’s OpenPS3FTP, here is a quote from the source:
* Changed: Implemented OpenPS3FTP by jjolano and removed the old buggy FTP server (faster transfer speeds and no path/file length limitations)
This should clear most of the FTP problems multiMAN had. Transfer speed is now faster, you can use 8-16 simultaneous file transfers, and the problem with long path and file names is gone now.
The implementation of openps3ftp is based on older version from jjolano, but still is much much better than what multiMAN had until now, so big thanks to him!
Remember to visit the multiMAN section of the forum, for MM related help and themes, you can find it here.
And of course the official multiMAN thread.
