  • PS3 Dev Wiki Back Up And Running

    For a few days, the PS3 Dev Wiki was down due to hosting problems and a lot of information seemed to be lost, but thanks to the hard work of the Wiki’s admin defyboy and a backup from a member called TMAnd, only a couple of days work was lost, you can read about it on this thread.

    So thank you defyboy and TMAnd for rescuing all those precious edits :)

    I would like to point out, that the PS3 Dev Wiki is a community effort, without the work and dedication of a lot of developers and PS3 enthusiasts, the wiki would be quite empty, so if you are doing work on the PS3, keep it documented on the Wiki :)

  • Finally JB-King Cracks v2.5 Update

    It seems that finally JB-King have cracked v2.5 TB update to enable all the games patched with v2.5 to work on their dongle.

    Updated method Please follow the procedure, or it will be difficult for you to play games smoothly.)

    1. Press on JB-King upgrade switch and plug in main USB interface. Open “Upgrade.exe” and upgrade “updrade2.5.dfu”. Then pull out JB-King and close “Upgrade.exe”

    2. Do not press on JB-King power switch. Plug it into PC. After about 5-8 seconds, pull out JB-King.

    3. Press on JB-King upgrade switch power again, and plug it into USB interface. Open “Upgrade.exe” and upgrade “S_2.5.dfu”. The process will last for a longer time, please be patient!

    3. If you get tips as follows, congratulation! You upgrade successfully.

  • JB2USB – A New Clone Of True Blue Or An Old Device In A New Shell

    Im sure you are all aware of the reDRM device known as True Blue, the device that uses stolen code and craps on everything a scene is supposed to be about, a couple of months ago, a clone was released called JB-King and it seems that another clone called JB2USB has been released, or has it.

    Ill explain the ‘or has it’ part
    A few days ago, PS3HaX member warning made this post:

    Then yesterday news emerges about JB2USB which claims to be a clone of True Blue, here is some information on the device:

    The device retails at $19.99 as well.

    So your opinion, is it a new clone, or is it the True Blue devs with a new device ?

  • True Blue v2.5 Update Released

    For the True Blue users on these forums, the newest update to the dongle, v2.5 has been released. The new update just brings various game compatibility fixes. Requires 3.55 TB CFW v2.

    True Blue dongle firmware v2.5 has been released. Changes include:

  • First ‘True Blue’ clone hits the web – “JB King”

    Over the weekend, the company that created PS3USERCHEAT dongle has managed to clone the infamous True Blue dongle.

    Features:

    • Booting of games from v3.6+ (up to v3.73) from special BD-R discs available from official resellers
    • Runs games up to v3.56 from HDD in conjunction with ´backup managers´
    • Does not require the Power/Eject trick
    • Custom v3.55 Dongle firmware behaves like OFW when ´JB-King´ is not inserted
    • Manufactured from highest grade components and Actel based
    • Durable and high quality plastic case design
    • Tough and durable plastic packaging
    • Further features to be added as they are developed
    • Supports Fat and Slim consoles currently running any firmware up to v3.55
    • And any PS3 console which can be downgraded from v3.6+ to v3.55 (NOTE: Requires other tools, ´JB-King´ currently can’t downgrade a Console)
    • Supports all regions of consoles
    • Supports all regions of ISO´s to be released
    • Rock solid crystal oscillator on board for flawless timing

    So for those who were interested in TB but not the price, this may be a cheaper alternative to you. We have not received this dongle yet but we will get a review sample soon, and will let you know how it is.

    And for those griping about the dongle, yes its another clone – but at least we know its possible to clone and someone can hopefully figure out what was done with the JB King that we couldn’t figure out with the True Blue and  bring a scene-free solution :) .

    It always plays out the same way, a high premium product, a bunch of cheap clones, and then a free solution available.  The reason TB was priced so high initially is because the company knew that the dongle would be cracked/cloned eventually so they maximized their profits in their short window.  Now with a clone on the market, you bet there will be more TB clones that follow this one and a scene solution will not be  far off.
