vosman brings you version v2.1 of his PSP plugin, which lets your homebrew enabled PSP access PSN and play online.

This is an update of one of the greatest PSP plugins ever made.
Problems fixed in this update (2.1):
You dont need to change the settings in the Recovery Menu (fixed error 0×20000001, no recovery setting (fake region) required).M33 update must be disabled.
    Changes on 2.0:
    * supports automatic login (auto-sign in supported).
    * disable the menu hotkey.
    * using the new system function modification method is no longer a simple string that changes PSNabler.

Problems with the first edition: (Translated)
    * Dynasty Warriors download joint raid with the letter can not, network warfare can not, it is because the game has additional protection, need money to buy a license key, and then activated in the PSN account management, similar to the game There are seals 3, Phantasy Star 2 and so on.
    * PSN most shops can not download the DEMO game, because these games to the machine authentication, game certification will appear (80109d80) errors, unexplained, it may try to use the MEDIA GO certified machine, or to rise to 6.20 official firmware, certification good lower and lower back.
    * Some of the unit is a mess of connection error, I do not know the reason why I never appeared. PSP-2000 with the Japanese version of the machine, the system 5.50GEN-D3 final version, 5.00M33-6 also tried, no problem.

    Installation:
    1)Add following line into vsh.txt/game.txt
    ms0:/seplugins/psnfucker.prx 1
2)Go to Recovery Menu and enable this plugin (if it isnt already enabled)

ZiNgA BuRgA has released his RCO manipulation tool which is compatible with PSP and the PS3. More information and download link below:

    About
Rcomage is a general RCO manipulation/creation tool, which I hope, will replace RCO Editor (and potentially rcotool in the future).
It’s a CLI (command-line interface) however I’ve provided a simple Windows GUI to save you from remembering commands (though you may need to trawl through an XML file).

It currently only has two main functions – “dump” (dumps contents of an RCO) and “compile” (compiles an RCO from a dump).
For modifying an RCO, you would dump it, modify the dump, then compile it.
A dump will consist of an XML file, which contains all the metadata of the RCO (basically, it’s structure) as well as various resources, such as images, sounds etc.

    How to use
Well, as mentioned above, basically dump and compile is the only thing you can do.
As for information on the XML structure, I don’t really have the time to write a good guide, so I guess you’ll probably just dump various RCOs to get an idea of how it works.  (I’d be willing to assist if someone would write a guide for me :P )
A quick idea of the structure is shown in the readme.

!! I strongly suggest that you don’t use Notepad to edit the XML files.  Suggested applications include Notepad++ and Notepad2 (or your favourite text editor; most should overcome the deficiencies of Notepad).

    Notes
Because I was silly when writing RCO Editor, it doesn’t put in adler32 checksums for compressed images, etc, and thus, anything modified with it will generate a warning in Rcomage.  Otherwise, should work fine.
Also, Sony’s GimConv, which is used to convert GIM images, is a little slow, so if you choose to perform the conversion (affects both dumping and compiling), expect to wait some time…

    Unknown values
If you go through dumped XML structures, you may notice a number of “unknown” labels for various objects (and some anim entries).  Finding out what these values do is, unfortunately, a little time consuming and I don’t really have that much time to test what each thing does.  It would be great if people would volunteer to play around with these values to see what effect they have, and I can add the definitions to Rcomage. (thanks in advance :) )

    Credits
    - highboy for his WAV <-> VAG conversion sample code
    - Z33 for sample GIM handling code and his various RCO tools as well as guides/investigations on various file formats
    - creators of 7-zip for their awesome implementation of deflate
    - supporting libraries: libxml2, iconv and zlib
    - geohot for help with PS3 RCO support
    - alpha testers, for discovering some issues and supporting theme development
    - everyone else supporting PSP customisation and homebrew scene (too numerous to name)
    - anyone I forgot to mention

With the smartphone/android phones market booming, I decided to implement a more friendly way to surf the forums for those who wish to access Hax Network via mobile device. You can now view Hax Network on a friendly interface via Tapatalk application available on the Apple App store, and other android markets. The site works with a user friendly interface with the Apple iPhone, Motorola Droid, T-mobile G1, HTC Magic, HTC Hero etc.

There are two versions to Tapatalk, pro and lite. The lite version is only a viewer, and the pro version ($2.99) carries many more features such as posting/PM/groups etc. Tapatalk and Haxnetwork are not affiliated and we receive no profit if you do choose to purchase the pro version.

You can find Hax Network via Tapatalk by going to search and typing in “Hax”.

As you all know, FreePlay teased us all with the exploit for the PSPGo some time ago

Well now ironically after the release of 6.20, the exploit was released for the public and is available for download.

    Quote from FreePlay:

“I told you it wasn’t fake, but some of you still didn’t believe me. You need firmware 6.10 or below, and the game (now known as Archer Maclean’s Mercury) of course. The exploit was patched in 6.20, and the PSN version of the game was updated to require 6.20. The eLoader isn’t happening at all unless I can get a 6.10 firmware dump from the Go, which this exploit can’t do. It would probably be best to wait until an XMB-based exploit comes along… game-based exploits are too easy to block.”

Team GEN have done it again by releasing Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D and a quick update for it. This update includes many bug fixes, patches, and allows games requiring FW +5.55 to be run without patching them manually.

    Changelog:

    • All features of 5.50 GEN-B2 are available.
    • Ability to run 5.51+ games without having to patch them (UMD or ISO).
    • Possibility to launch PSN demos requiring 5.51+ without having to patch them (as MGS for example).
    • Possibility to connect to the Playstation Store by using MEDIAGO, to retrieve games and goodies without having to install Fake USB or other complicated stuff.
    • Possibility to use the XGEN Updater to install the official firmware 6.10 (use it only if you have a Pandora XGEN to be able to return later in Custom firmware)
    • 480×272 AVC Videos are supported

    Changelog for GEN-D2:

    • Evangelion anti-CFW patch fix
    • Fix Wlan TKIP in game loop: pes 2009, fifa, motorstorm, GTA:CW etc.
    • Fix video output with 5.5X and 6.X games like GTA Chinatowns War
    • Fixed recovery menu with make Pandora and make battery normal
    • Removed splash screen http://www.pspgen.com but you have another spash screen in red color for let you know if the decrypter work

    Some problems with specific games:

    • If Evangelion doesn’t work: Skip the intro.
    • Use your own ISO and not a downloaded/pirated one. They’re gutted and often crap.
    • If Full Metal Alchemist doesn’t work: At first launch create your profile. When done, choose an option like “free Battle Mode” and you are then returned to the start menu with an alert “Caution.” At this point, quit and relaunch. All works fine now because the profile was created.

Team Typhoon just uploaded a youtube video showing us proof of concept that they managed to fully hack the PSPGo and run custom firmware 6.10 on it. Don’t get too excited though, Team Typhoon said that “this will never be released to the general public or anyone else at all”. Whats this new fad of making exploit then teasing everyone else with it, its beyond me.

    Disclaimer from Team Typhoon:

This video is for bragging rights ONLY (since it’s very cool nowadays) and shows our Proof of Concept 6.10 Custom Firmware running on the PSPgo. This will never be released to the general public or anyone else at all whether you are a dev or not, this is Team Typhoon internal material, we have no reason whatsoever to waste a perfectly good exploit. So don’t ask for release dates. We don’t care about your complaining, whining and everything remotely related and it’s your own damn fault since you brought this on yourselves. Better version of the video showcasing more homebrew coming next week. Thanks go to Sony for this awesome piece of new hardware, finally a decent hardware revision. Also thanks to all historied PSP Homebrew developers for paving the way for us to be able to do this.

PSP hacker FreePlay has released video proof for his PSP Go exploit (Hello World).  You can view the video at the read more link. There is  however a catch, FreePlay has stated that he will not be releasing the exploit unless there is a good reason to. The exploit does NOT write to the flash (just usermode), so this would not lead to CFW, ISO loaders etc. FP does mention that this IS patchable so technically the refusal to release can most likely be in our favor.

The folks over at the GamesRadar office have received a PSP Go and they present to us the unboxing of the new PSP:

With the new PS3 Slim price drop, the $250 price tag does seem a bit too hefty for the new PSP, don’t you think?

Well it certainly was no lie, a week ago we told you about a hacker by the name of Dashhacker who had managed to reverse engineer the PS3 remote play feature, today he has released his first beta version of his application. Right now it is for only MAC’s (Intel based), PC version is expected next week. So those who are new to this, what does it do? Basically you can now control your PS3 via laptop, iPhone, pretty much most hand held devices/PDA’s . Currently for this you need a MAC (intel based) computer, and a hacked PSP to export remote play settings.

More information, how-to and everything you need can be grabbed via download below:

This is great news for anyone who wants to stay on a lower firmware yet still be able to connect online on the PS3. Spanish hacker Bakke has found out a way to connect to PSN on lower firmwares, this method works on PS3s starting from FW 2.30+. You can continue to play Home, browse and download files from PS Store and play online as if your PS3 was running on latest update. The tutorial is very simple and once again requires the use of PS3Proxy Server. It is recommended to stay on lower firmware updates as long as possible and not to update to latest firmware for various reasons.

You can view the translated English tutorial here.

Welcome PS3HAX.NET and XBOX360HAX.NET members to our new site! We have now merged both of our biggest hacking sites to one mega site, making HaxNetwork your pit stop for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PSP hacking news!

Starting off, we urge all of our current members to change their passwords and update their profile information for their own security. Work on the site is still being done, but we have opened the forums to resume normal discussion. There are still some kinks in site we are working on and hopefully they will be hammered down within the next few days (this site is OPTIMIZED for FIREFOX). We will also be modifying the forum space a little bit to make it more organized and minimize all the scrolling. There will be staff positions open in next few days so if your interested to help out in HaXNetwork here is your chance.

Also for those who are just interested in PS3 news or just Xbox 360 news, you can click on the filters on the front page (PS3, Xbox360, PSP) to show hacking news that only relates to that format.

Welcome to the new site, let us know what you think of it :)
