Hope you didn’t wait too long since our last VHBL release a bit more than 2 weeks ago… This is a new PSP user mode exploit by thecobra (also discovered a while ago by WosRet), which I confirmed runs on a PS Vita with Firmware 1.67. Unlike Motorstorm and Everybody’s Tennis, this game is available in the US store as well as some other countries (details to come).

Sony has released there new update for the PS Vita. The update size is only 97mbs. Updating now, will report more findings afterwards.

Some Minor Features include

• A “Notification Alert” option will be added to Settings, so you can toggle alerts on or off
• “After 10 minutes” will be added to the time options under Power Save Settings
• An Arrow icon will now appear when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea
• Caps Lock will be supported in the On Screen Keyboard

in This methode,You must Download A custom disc backup that has a graphical interface for installing all of the cheat pkg files Released.
You will only need to download the main disc backup once. All future updates will be able to be applied by simple drag-and-drop in windows.
There is also a txt file at the root of the disc backup that can be loaded in multiMAN’s File Manager that shows you what most of these cheats will do and how to use them.

Dear Sony, it has come to my attention that one of the PSP games available on the playstation Vita has a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of external code by some malicious users. Therefore I am writing this blog post so that you can patch the game or remove it from the PSN store as soon as possible. Preferably, I suggest you take the money from your clients first, and prevent them from downloading the game afterwards, just like you did withMotorstorm Arctic Edge, 3 weeks ago. This way it will be a win-win situation for you, and you can always blame it on the hackers later on.

 

As a matter of fact, I have discovered that some “hackers” (I prefer to call them terrorists) have already prepared a tool wich, using this vulnerability, could allow people to run software that would be extremely dangerous for your business, such as 20 year-old 8 bit games and 154 different versions of pong.

I think this puts your business at risk, and I’ve tried to stop those vilains by all means necessary, but sadly it seems they are not breaking any law. Hopefully, giving you the name of the game will help you to take some efficient action. Those people are clearly wrong in their mind to try to play crappy open source software, when they could enjoy a great game such as Ridge Racer for less than 10$ a track, (which is clearly not a ripoff compared to the price one would have to pay in the real world to drive cars that completely defy the laws of physics. I digress. The name of the game is Everybody’s Tennis. It is also known as Minna no tennis in Japan. Thankfully the game is not available on the US Vita store, so this should limit the problems on your end. I heard however that these hackers have prepared a US version of the hack just in case that version is being sold somewhere such as the HK store. I also heard people can buy the UK version from the US if they buy some PSN cards from resellers on ebay and other sites. If I may give some advice, I think this is not secure enough. True, you did a good job in preventing people from buying games outside of the country they live in (and being a French living in Japan, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the fact that I can’t buy any game on the French PSN, this is exactly how globalization should work, and it helps me sparing lots of money by not buying any game), but I think in order to avoid future hacks, you should simply prevent everyone from buying games on the PSN, which will guarantee you a complete control of the market.

The hackers also announced they would release their hack a few hours or days after they announce the name of the game being used. They claim this only allows people to run “homebrew” games and that in no way it allows people to play pirated PSP or vita games, but I think this is not an excuse to hack.

I realize it is saturday evening for your teams in Europe, and Sunday morning in Japan. I hope you will not have to wake some people in the middle of the night just to take action, I would have chosen a better time, but I myself have very little time to blog outside of weekends.

Hoping that working together we will be able to stop hackers. I seem to be one of the few people on Earth who understand that the real enemies of the Vita are not your poor marketing techniques, the terrible software such as the “back to the 90′s” netfront browser, the bad launch lineup, the delays on the playstation suite, the recent downgrade from 5 to 2 allowed copies of any given psn game, and the increasing competition of smartphones that all have better CPUs than the Vita. No, the real enemies are those people playing Lamecraft, who are clearly killing the videogame market, so let’s destroy them together.

Please pay extra attention to the dev known as wth, who apparently is behind this whole thing, as well as Teck4 who apparently helped him for the Japanese version of the hack. I also heard that somes guys named mamosuke and msparky83 were involved in the testing. It would be good if you have a way to maybe track these guys’ phones or something. Or maybe you can simply sue them, I heard it’s something you do very well.

PSP hacker Davee has been hard at work on the PS VITA and has reported that he has found a new kernel exploit for the PSVita! The video posted below shows a PRX loader and that he has managed to get PSP ISOs already running on the PSV.

First thing first, huge thanks to Proxima and some1. They’ve provided key utilities and advice for this research. So, yeah, it was really only a matter of time till this kind of thing happened. Sony dont just emulate the userland process of a PSP game, they emulate the entire kernel albeit, a modified kernel. The PSP emu has limited access to hardware, with interfacing the hardware done via a Kermit module. Kermit is a old-timers transmission protocol, likely used to talk to the native Vita.

The PS Vita, is a nifty little device, and the PSP emulator is a good target to get a huge library of homebrew. Check out the video below for a demonstration of what can be achieved.

You can see, that it works! The benefit is that HEN can access the core of the kernel, allowing almost seamless compatibility. However, as you may know, VHBL cannot run Lamecraft. Nor can this HEN currently. Lamecraft uses the OSK interface which has been replaced with Vita’s OSK. It’s likely a software error in the PSP kernel from the arguements passed in the homebrew.

There is other things, and perhaps i’ll make a post for them another time, but for now, later.

Since I’m a physic, I developed a linux tool to do some experiments to reproduce a seismograph. so today I decided to try to write something similar to my university tool.

This is a simple Seismograph for PS3. It uses all the axis of the first controller.

It uses 1920×1080 resolution, so I don’t know if it will ever work on SD tv.

Anyway I hope this can show how people can use PSL1GHT SDK.

It seems that finally JB-King have cracked v2.5 TB update to enable all the games patched with v2.5 to work on their dongle.

Updated method Please follow the procedure, or it will be difficult for you to play games smoothly.)

1. Press on JB-King upgrade switch and plug in main USB interface. Open “Upgrade.exe” and upgrade “updrade2.5.dfu”. Then pull out JB-King and close “Upgrade.exe”

2. Do not press on JB-King power switch. Plug it into PC. After about 5-8 seconds, pull out JB-King.

3. Press on JB-King upgrade switch power again, and plug it into USB interface. Open “Upgrade.exe” and upgrade “S_2.5.dfu”. The process will last for a longer time, please be patient!

3. If you get tips as follows, congratulation! You upgrade successfully.

Well its been a while since i last held a competition, so i thought id start my first one of 2012, which should be fun for all of you that decide to participate. • Create a custom colour PS3 Cold Boot, it can be still image or animated, as long as it is Colour.
• The Cold Boot MUST be your own work.(If work is found to be someone else, immediate disqualification)
• The Cold Boot MUST come with a preview image.(If a preview is not posted, then the Cold Boot cannot be judged)
• The Cold Boot must not be the same as someone elses, this is one of the reasons previews are a must, if you see an earlier Cold Boot that is the same as yours, then create a new one.
• If you have created a custom Colour Cold Boot in the past four weeks, then you are eligible to enter.

Recently the developer has managed to get uDraw running on his computer, uDraw is a USB tablet for the PS3, used in drawing applications and some games, click for more info, here is a quote from Brandon’s website:

A few days ago, an anonymous person gave me a file, claiming it to be 4.10 Dev Firmware, unlike the durandal file, this one was checked by someone on IRC, who confirmed it to be 100% Dex, before i created this post as to not cause any false hope or unfortunate false news, as with all unknown files, i do air a warning of caution, don’t install if you are not sure and install at your own risk.
