You can delete the coldboot.raf from your ps3 completely and it wil still work.. As long as when you copy a new one to your ps3 you don't delete the wrong file (Or do anything stupid) you won't brick your ps3.

I'm stuck at step 2... sorry. I run a risk of bricking my ps3 if i get the boot logo wrong right? (or wrong?)
