Hey, does this go right onto a flash drive or does it need to be in a folder within the flash drive?
Im trying to actually upgrade my fw from 3.40 but everytime i click to do it from storage media, it says NO APPLICABLE DATA FOUND.
What am i doing wrong? |

have to make a PS3 folder on the root of your flash drive..
Then make a UPDATE folder in that PS3 folder..
then put the update.pup file in there...
Make sure both folders are all in CAPS!!!!

downgrading that ways is only possible on the slim, because the update is store on the hardrive.... the fat ps3 is the one that the update is store on the motherboard . |

For those intersted to know, this is the right software...I just check out....
This is the second edition to the 3.41 Firmware.
The Check sum for the correct 3.41 Firmware is :
e07d2b84c9e9691c261b73e5f1aada20
The check sum for this Firmware is :
e07d2b84c9e9691c261b73e5f1aada20
The are both the same therefore it is good to intall..
If you want to double check google MD5 Utility and you can then check ou the check sum.

Anyone having problems updating from 3.30? I just bought a new system and tried to update but got data corrupt error when it reached 70%. I returned the system and bought another one and I got the same error. |

For those of you still having issues I pulled this from the PS3 boards.
Update using a PC Required items
PLAYSTATION®3 system
SIXAXIS™ wireless controller
A USB cable
A PC with Internet access
Storage media (Memory Stick™, SD Memory Card, CompactFlash®)* or a USB Mass Storage device such as a USB flash drive
(At least 120 MB of free space required)
* An appropriate USB adaptor (not included) is required to use storage media with some models.
Update data download procedure
Create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data.
Using a PC, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”.
Download the update data and save it in the UPDATE folder created in step 1.
Select here to start the download.
Notice
Be sure to save the update data as noted below. If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.
Location: Save in the “PS3” folder > “UPDATE” folder
File name: Save as file name “PS3UPDAT.PUP”.

can please someone help me how to install this i have a regular memory stick 1gb and a "fat" ps3 from dubai is this firmware good for mine?? and please tell me how can i downgrade because i updated by mystake to 3.50 and i didn't want to .thx alot and i'm hope someone will see this i'm a beginner in this i don't know to much about hacking or so about the ps3 pls help!! god bless |
