Since 3.55 Kmeaw my PS3 has been getting errors when updating to a new firmware. When I installed 3.55 Kmeaw I went to the Systems Information section of the XMB and my PS3 said 3.55 without Kmeaw so I reinstalled Kmeaw and again it didn't say it was 3.55 Kmeaw. I tried reinstalling from another source (all the sources I used were trust worthy) and got an error at around 9% in the installation process. The error was 8002F14E. I tried numerous things to fix it, but in the end I was able to get it to install by leaving the PS3 turned off (power cord unplugged) for 12 hours.

A lot of new firmwares came out, but every time i tried to update to them I would end up with an update loop error 8002F14E, always at a percent less than 20%. I've had to format my PS3's HDD and reinstall 3.55 Kmeaw. It would also give me the update loop error but with 3.55 Kmeaw I would be able to get out of the update loop by leaving my PS3 unplugged over night and turning it back on. It would install from 0% to 100% without any errors. I was stuck on 3.55 Kmeaw for a long time.

Then I saw the new Rebug 4.30 firmware and wanted to update to it. For whatever reason the process went smoothly and it updated without error. Then rebug 4.46 came out and I tried to update to that but again I had the 8002F14E update loop error. Only this time I couldn't get out of the update loop by keeping my PS3 unplugged overnight. I Googled the error and read every single site I could find, but no one had the solution on how to get out of the update loop. I finally discovered a solution on my own and have been using it ever since:

Quote:

Okay I managed to fix it and get out of the update loop back into the XMB. The firmware is still 4.30 Rebug.

Here's how I did it:

1. On a second 2.5" HDD, format it in Windows, or you can just initialize it. I initialized it because there's no point in formatting it in Windows when the PS3 itself will format it

2. Place the second HDD into the PS3 and turn it on. A screen will popup that will ask you to connect your PS3 controller via USB and press the Home button. Place your current PS3 firmware onto a usb flash drive and press Start and Select.

3. The PS3 will ask you if you want to format the HDD. Let the PS3 format it

4. The PS3 will reboot and show you the install screen. Cancel it

5. It will reboot again and show the screen that asks you to connect your controller via USB. Don't just yet

6. Take out the second HDD from the PS3 and insert the original HDD you used to update the PS3: the one that was stuck in the update loop

7. Connect the controller via USB

8. The same screen should popup from before: Home button to restart the PS3 or Start and Select to update it

9. Press Start and Select. It should not ask you to format the HDD and will say Preparing to update

10. It should get stuck at 0% for about 5 minutes or so and then resume updating until 99% where it will also be stuck. I don't know what happened after this because I went to the bathroom, but after I came back the screen had 'A serious error occurred' written on it

11. I pressed and held the power button on the PS3 until it beeped and then I turned it back on

12. After this it showed the XMB and asked me to change the display. Done

Now, how do I update to a newer firmware without having to deal with this ****amamie? I feel like every time I update my PS3 I'm playing russian roulette

Edit: I format to mention I removed my Internet cable from the PS3. Not sure if that helped or not though.

Edit 2: Question about backing up my data: Do I just need to back up SAVEDATA and Trophy in /dev_hdd0/home/00000001 or is there another directory?

PS3 Error 8002F14E (Update Loop) when installing Rebug 4.46.1 help? - Page 2
I tried updating to the new Cobra-Rogero firmware and again I got an update loop error at 14%. Got out of the update loop using the above method and tried installing it again but through the recovery menu. I got the error at 10% this time. I really want to use the new Cobra-Rogero firmware. I need it mainly for the NTFS support as I have an external HDD that I want to use for backup. My current firmware only supports FAT32 and many of my games have files greater than 4 GB.

Can someone help me out? I have no idea what to do. My QA flag is enabled. Is there anything else I should do? I think 4.40 spoofer is on, but I don't think that matters, does it? What about level 1 checks? Everything on my PS3 works fine, the bluray drive, the bluetooth, usb, etc.

Hello,

I want to buy a second hand ps3 and I want it play pirated games. I used to have a ps3 that worked with a version of Rogero and I was playing copied games, but I don't know how to understand if it can be installed into the new one or not. So, should I search a specific version? Should I care whether the ps3 had ever been connected to the internet??? Or is it important which year the ps3 was bought?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

PS3 slim overheating http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=78607&goto=newpost Mon, 20 Oct 2014 15:52:26 GMT I recently sent out my ps3 slim 2501B for downgrade. I had REBUG/Cobra 4.53.1 REX by Joonie v4 installed on it. When I got it back everything seemed...
I recently sent out my ps3 slim 2501B for downgrade. I had REBUG/Cobra 4.53.1 REX by Joonie v4 installed on it. When I got it back everything seemed fine for the first few hours and then I got a popup warning that my machine was overheating and the fan sped up to jet noise levels.

I went into web man and turned on the fan tools, and this prevented the warning but my fan now has to run at 90% constantly. I never saw these issues before.

As a test, I let the machine fully cool and turned off the automatic fan controls. Then I watched the temperatures in web man. They stated at about 40 degrees but within ten minutes they were at 77/82 for CPU/RSX. When I turn the fan control back on, the fan ran at about 90% to keep the temps in the high 60's. Note that nothing else was even running. It was just idling with web man running. I see the same trend of I watch the temperatures while idling in multiman.

I saw that this firmware has known overheating issues with cobra on, but disabling it did not fix anything.

My question is, does anyone know what might be causing this? How do I fix it? It doesn't seem like I should have to have the fan at full speed all of the time just to maintain reasonable temperatures (especially at idle). I never had these issues on OFW (though I never actually measured the processor temperatures on OFW). Also what are safe operating temperature for the CPU/RSX? How worried should I be about system failure?

Thanks.

SuperSlim update loop http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=78603&goto=newpost Mon, 20 Oct 2014 13:08:37 GMT
Hi,

It appears my wifi/bluetooth chips are dead. The controller wouldn't connect and Wi-Fi didn't find any networks, but it didn't bother me too much - I connected it using a LAN cable and was ok with it. However, at one point it asked to update, and I said ok. I didn't know it would get stuck in the update loop, which it did.

The ps3 has never been jailbroken or downgraded, I think it's on version 4.60 right now, or possibly 4.55 because it says I need to update with that version at least. Well, right now it's not on anything, because I formatted the drive trying to fix the issue. I tried creating a PUP with MFW Builder, but it says the file is corrupted (tried both 4.65 and 4.55). The only thing I did was check the option to remove bt/wifi checks. Why does it say it's corrupted? I'm guessing I'd need to downgrade it first?

Is there any other way around the problem? I don't really care about jailbreaking it or custom firmwares, I'd just like to play some games that are waiting in the queue :)

Thanks!

Transfer Saves from OFW to CFW http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=78573&goto=newpost Sun, 19 Oct 2014 02:41:23 GMT
Hello All,

I did some quick search and couldn't find an answer. So let me be quick.

I have a CECHA01 (fw 4.55) which I have used for all of my game playing over the last 8 years.
I purchased a CECHH01 (fw 3.21) that I plan on installing CFW on. Before I install the CFW, I ask...

Can I transfer all of my saves from my CECHA to the CECHH once the CECHH is on CFW? I want to be able to have all of my saves on the CECHH.

Thank you.

Question Dual Booting http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=78524&goto=newpost Fri, 17 Oct 2014 11:15:05 GMT
I have a question regarding dual booting. As I can't find any definitive answer for this. I only find people who have been able to do it, and any other sites talk about dual booting as something everybody knows.

The general question is, what is dual booting? What are the possibilities of it? (As far as I figured, you have 2 different firmwares on 2 different HDD. Then... there is the thing about fast dual booting too...)

Hi. After having black screen issues with MM I switched to IrisMan which has been working terrific for me. The only feature I miss is the ability to put my disc games in the BD and dump them to hard drive. I'm looking for a recommendation for a standalone disc ripper/BD dump app that I can install on my PS3 to use with IrisMan 3.30. Running MMcm along with Iris hasn't been an option for me as MM black screens my phat upon launch.

Current System deets: CECHE01 phat, Rebug Cobra Rex 4.53, IrisMan 3.30

Thanks much.
