possibile loop
Hi, im not a programmer or anything and this will most likly turn out to be nothing
but im on the newest fimrware, and it allows you to eject the disc remotly from the controller, howver when you press it, for a short while the icon is still there , so u can still activate the game, nd then the disc comes out, the screen stays black for some time , untill it says , error possibily something |
Re: possibile loop
i dont think that this will lead to anything
also you should post a video of it |
Re: possibile loop
When you swap the 2nd disc does attempt to play.
not had a sucessful swap yet - where the game fully boots, - I can't beleive Sony would have been so foolish to get caught out so easilly (could they???) |

Re: possibile loop
Well Ps1 games will give an error but Ps2 games boot
Ps1 original swapped with same disc (original disc ejected and then original inserted = An error occured during the start operation (80010516)) Ps2 original swapped with same disc (original disc ejected and then original inserted = Game Boots) Ps3 = original swapped with same disc. (original disc ejected and then original inserted = An error occured during the start operation (80010516)) Ps3 = original swapped with same disc. (original disc ejected and then original inserted = An error occured during the start operation (8001050D)) BackUp testing none tested yet. On the Ps3 tests it seems the boot and start operation process is so fast it's impossible to swap a game even an original one in time. It's less than 3 seconds and the ps3 take abut 1.5 seconds to eject and then another 1.5 to load a disc. EDIT ** PS2 Original Swapped with Backup (Original disc ejected and then same title backup inserted = The system does a soft reboot and takes me back to XMB briefly before displaying = An error occured during the start operation (80028f17)) What's interesting about the above is that when Ps2 games boot the sixaxis controller loses contact and the PS button needs to be pressed and this happens with the backup so I'mn guessing that it gets part way into the game boot process before noticing it is a backup. |

What can we get from just swapping the original game with the same disc? I mean, it's not like the back-ups work...so isn't just like buying a game and putting it in and waiting for it boot and going "w00t"? |
Re: possibile loop
I was just making an observation?, but it's interesting as it means that the backup is getting recognised and then booted if only part way before another check rejects it
When testing if a backup will boot its always better to start with a backup of the original you are swapping then from there if you get success look at having one boot disc that will boot all backups and I also found you can swap one original for another, but I'm guessing you want backups. like I said in my post I can't beleive that sony would make it that easy for us. |
Re: possibile loop
if we get backups to work using this i can guarantee that someone is going to loose there job at sony
