How to copy your PS3 backups from PC to internal PS3 drive (PS3 FTP)

This guide will teach you how to copy your PS3 dumps that are located on your PC to your PS3 internal hardrive.

You can not copy your PS3 dumps via external USB to your PS3 HDD.

Files Required:

Procedure:

This works best with FileZilla, its free, and I will explain how to use it via FileZilla. Please note the application is still buggy and will randomly disconnect at times.

Step 1:

Copy PS3 FTP to external USB, and pop it into your PS3 - copy it over by clicking "Install Package Files".

Once installed, run the application and hit "Start FTP".

Step 2:

Download, install FileZilla.

Open Filezilla, go to the site manager and do the following changes:

Host - This is the address given to you on the PS3 FTP program.
Port - 21
Logon Type - 'Normal'
User - FTPD12345
Pass - Anything you like

Click the 'Transfer Settings' tab.

Transfer mode - 'Active'
Limit number of simultaneous connections - Tick this box
Maximum number of connections - 1

Step 3:

Connect to your PS3 now by the IP that was given by the PS3 FTP application on your PS3.

Once you connect your pretty much done the hard part, now just copy your PS3 dump to your PS3 in the following directory:

/dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/

Please note your PS3 dump must be in the proper format (for PSGroove), so download this application to do just that. Here is an alternative application for same task.

Thats all, you may have to connect and reconnect a view times during copying process (just stop and restart FTP on your PS3).

Wow big advancement here. I never even noticed that ISO2JB app in the Downloads section, that's a crazy one.

No it will not. Right now only 3.41 can use the JB.

I dont have this folder, "LAUN12345". Only "BLUS30364", "FTPD12345", "NPUB90375" and "NPUD90444". I copy to which folder? Or I create the "LAUN12345" folder. Will i be able to boot the game? I have the RDR BLUS folder and i want to copy to my internal HDD to play from there.

Thanks.

I read elsewhere that the ISO2JB application doesn't actually work, has anyone confirmed this method?

ISO2JB just acts like a regular ISo extraction tool.. Worthless.

I read a reply to a thread asking about something like this on PSX-Scene, the guy said he got this to work. I'm waiting to hear some type of confirmation from here or there.
