UPDATE: New FTP Server By blackb0x (v1.1)
 

New update fro blackb0x is out, bringing the version to 1.1b. Change log below, download at the end of the post.

UPDATE 9/26/2010:

+ Added IP address display for ease of use
+ Added screensaver to darken screen after 1m, reawaken on

As i posted here CJPC released the first true homebrew app, which was an FTP server, whilst it has worked flawlessly for me, people complained about problems with it, for those that have had problems, we have a new FTP server, brought to us by blackb0x, the team responsible for bringing us the LV2 Dumper.

Here is the readme quoted from the source:

FTP Server 1.0b

Well since no one has released a bug free, speedy, easy to use FTP server we decided to take the reigns on it. Introducing FTP Server 1.0b, it doesn?t crash, it doesn?t byte shift, and most importantly, it doesn?t suck. Oh, and its threaded for speedy transfers :)

Instructions:

Install the pkg to your ps3 (you should know how to do this by now) then run blackb0x FTP. You can now connect to your PS3 via the PC FTP client of your choice. Just fill in your PS3?s ip, port 21, and leave username, and password blank. To quit the app either press X, or quit via ingame XMB.

Tested with FileZilla, FlashFXp, CuteFTP, and WinSCP

Expect more tools from us in the future for the PS3

Forum member mihaiolimpiu reports of a serious bug when using more than one connection, that corrupts games copied over, so use only one connection.

Also CJPC's version i found quite quick, so if this is faster, awesome.

It's faster, but I got some errors in a transfer from PS3 to PC, got only 3-4 files from more than 100, and it's say the all files were done.
