Jailbroke PS3 will not load backups, black screen freeze
Ok, I have had my PS3 Jailbroken for awhile now. Recently I accidentally deleted an early version of Rogero and it wiped out all of my games. I reinstalled a couple and they wouldn't load, they would just go to a black screen. So, I tried some of my buddy's games and copied em from the Blu-Ray and they still wouldn't load. Eventually I just did a full reformat of the HDD and I have tried multiple HEX files, to no avail. The weird thing is my PS3 does play games in the Blu-Ray drive and will play the PSN backups just fine. So, I have no idea what to do anymore.

Man, from the lack of replies I'm starting to just think I'm ****ed.

check what fw your on and try a different manager.

I'm on 3.41 and using Hermes V4b. I've tried multiples hexes and managers.

that is wierd, just reformat HD, restore default settings, and try again.

i have the same thing, i jailbreaked a ps3 with bad laser (i think) and can play emulators effortless. Only when i try backups it shows black screen right after loading. It's the same for games that need no original disc to load.
Also, games played from original discs only freeze after some time, not instantly like with the jailbreaked games. Untill now i couldn't really find what it was so any help is welcome :) Also please, if anyone finds a solution, post it because it probably will help many others ;-) (it's a older big ps3, don't know if that changes anything at all) Since i'm not sure it's the laser, when i have the time i will try what pockets69 said (i did format, but not restore settings) on my original hd. (read somewhere similar problems happen with bad sectors on the hard drive). |
