Geohot has released the first signed PS3 homebrew, to quote:

Im pretty sure its just a .self that creates a "helloworld" file on your usb.

Wow I just refreshed the page and this happened lol How do you put 3.55 into service mode? This must be fore debug consoles or something?

I thought the point of having signed homebrew was so that we didn't have to go into service mode/jailbreak mode. Otherwise this is no different than any other Homebrew already out.

It's just a proof of concept. Wait till CFW is released which allows you to install packages. There are several devs working on this. ;)

other than the fact that it runs on 3.55?

so CFW is just jailbreak mode but with no usb correct?

Alright,I'm in service mode, how do I get to boot? I put on root of my memory stick as Lv2diag.self, but when I boot PS3 shuts off?

i tried to get my ps3 in that service mode but i don't think i'm gettin it, that or my sd card is just not compadible.
