Geohot: Homebrew for 3.55 aka Jailbroken PS3
 

Well it's done renowned iPhone hacker takes the Ps3 a level higher by jailbreaking the system and allowing .pkg files to run on firmware 3.55 yes that's right homebrew on 3.55 is just around the corner. What Famous Geohot has done is that he has enabled the .pkg feature with a lv2diag.self after he has then signed the (NPRDM) self file and packaged it into a retail.pkg file without a signature. A file is then patched again on the flash so that it ignores the signature. What this does is that it allows homebrew to run from the XMB without the signature.

So it's possible to install Open Manager etc. and run back ups now?

From what I seem to understand is that backup managers and certain emulators run off of syscalls, which is like a command if I am correct? and since GeoHot is afraid of a lawsuit, he just patched the Lv2 to run unsigned homebrew but didn't make any other alterations, is this correct?

Alright let me get this straight
This is a patch that you can use on unsigned pkg files to make the ps3 bypass the checking of the signature on a pkg file so it can now be loaded into kakarotos 3.55 cfw :hmmmm: this is going to get interesting I'll be soon looking at the geohot site to see what I can get to download and I might test this on some homebrew (manager jokes lol I'll probably try on FTP) and post my finding
