PlayStation Phone exposed!

Sony’s bosses are still being evasive about the very existence of a ‘PlayStation Phone’. We’ve no idea why – especially since the internet is veritably awash with info leakages. Now a Chinese website has published new pics, a few hands-on videos and what could well be final product specifications.

The Experia-branded device looks uncannily like the PSP ‘Go’ in terms of its size, layout and sliding-screen configuration. The PS Phone’s screen is slightly larger, though, and it’s fair to say there’s a bit more going on under the hood.
According to the Chinese website ‘mobile.it168.com’ the slick mobile is apparently “confirmed” as featuring the same ‘Qualcomm Adreno 205’ Graphics Processing Unit and 1GHz Snapdragon processor that power the HTC Desire HD phone. That’ll do for starters, eh?

Visuals are reported to crack along at a very respectable 59.1 frames per second, all delivered in 854 x 480 pixels resolution on the crisp 4 inch LCD screen. The PSP Go screen is just 3.8 inches in comparison.

PlayStation Phone

The PlayStation Phone also boasts 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, slots for a microSD memory card, micro-USB and, course, a SIM. There’s a 5 megapixel camera onboard too, complete with LED flash and a second microphone on the back to enable active noise cancelling. 720p high definition recording is thought not to be possible at this stage.

Games will launch via an application called ‘PlayStation Pocket’. There’s not much else to know about that right now, but the first shaky-cam video below should give you an idea of what to expect in terms of quality.

Sony has yet to officially confirm any of this, needless to say. But they’d better hurry up about it – if current mutterings are correct, the PlayStation Phone could be arriving as early as next month. Will you be queuing up to buy one…?

Considering the fact that Sony has yet to confirm acknowledge the existence of the phone, there are not much details especially price . The specs are the only real concrete thing that is known about the device.
