Geohot Court Documents Look Fake.
Posted by Darryl P. on Tuesday Jan 11, 2011 Categories: Playstation 3 Homebrew Geohot Court Documents Look Fake. I honestly think the court documents are fake.. 1. They are not signed.. 2. They were emailed 3. No company would share an exparte (secret filing) before its even signed by a judge. 4. That would be like telling him, yo we are gonna sue you, so in 10 days, were gonna serve you, so you have until then to delete evidence.. 5. No company would give a warning when they are trying to serve some body, they could easily go somewhere else where they dont know where he is, and if they cant find him to serve him, then the restraining order is no good… plus more ****.. i think its some troll who knows law pretty well, who is ****ing with geohot.GE |
dont see how this is news, moved to the right section, i read the documents and it said it was a restraining order, and the can go after them as what they did was against the law, it wasnt a jailbreak the ps3jailbreak people just called it that as people know jailbreak mean hacked, what they did was more like a hen

There is a point here though pbanj, the papers aren't signed and there are names missing from them.
Is it fake, or did someone leak them ? |
that is a good point and if they are not from sony, it will put the idea in sony's head
|
well for it to be legal they have to be served by a registered server for it to be on record and so the email is very fishy unless it was a scare tactic by Sony... My friends a server so I know, to take you to court papers need to be served by a third party!
|
not that im an expert with legal docs... but from what i seen of them... they are BS!
also NO company would email them... NO judge would allow them to be emailed... they would be sent via post and recorded delivery so there was proof that they received them... think its prob just scare tactics or some n00b playing some early april fools joke lol |

the documents aren't fake (psx-scene got the court stamped papers on their thread) plus anyone can go search PACER for their own copies ($0.08 per page) the only parts i agree with are 3,4,5 which makes it seem more like a scare tactic used by SONY to stop geo and others from working on the PS3 The judge was suppose to hear and sign the orders at 9AM PST 1/12/11 so no idea whether Sony was granted the order or not |
Doesn't a restraining order have to be delivered by a deputy sheriff?
I would imagine if any of the defendants got served they would publicly announce it... Also, some parts of the TRO dont seem to read right... along with misspellings, using phrases " a few days ago..." There are several spots where it simply refers to a defendant or George Hotz as simply "the hacker" it just doesn't sit right with me... Its probably real, but I'm not sure it was put together very well. Considering the importance for this case to Sony.. |
