PSP2 Announced: NGP (Next Generation Portable)
 

Most of the PS3 owners are also PSP owners and over at the Sony Tokyo Event the long awaited and anticipated PSP2, codenamed NGP (next gen portable) has arrived. To quote the specs:

Specs include a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, dual analog sticks (not nubs as on the current generation), 3G, WiFi, GPS, a rear-mounted touchpad, the same accelerometer / gyroscope motion sensing as in the PlayStation Move, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the front and back.

The games are now under a new unknown storage media (not UMD anymore). It is indeed very powerful compared to the previous PSP models. During the press confrence they even showed a cutscene from Metal Gear Solid 4 rendered on the NGP @ ~20FPS (not bad at all for portable device).

The best part is that the device is available this holiday season (price not known).

There were tons of games, such as Killzone, Uncharted, LBP demoed you can head over at Engadet to see all the screens.

sony went back to cartridge method i dont think it has a memory card slot

This isn't the PSP Phone. I watched the live blog with pics, the thing has dual touch screens. One the OLED on the front, the second on the Rear and is the entire size of the OLED screen so that you can "pinch" and move objects on your screen... The control is absolute sick, 360 full axis controller that interfaces with in and out game cameras. It's gonna be worth getting, its too bad they didn't announce a price point. However, this Xmas is gonna be something to look forward too.

Wonder which of those features will be the first to go...

psp3000 looks much more better than this.
Is it have touch d-pad and triangle&round&cross&square ? <--- that bad, cause we love buttons. touch is sucks except back touch panel.
i`ll buy it only if sony changes design and hackers hack it!
