just started playing dead space 2 and am getting the update notice for 1.2, is it safe to update i am on 3.55 still and dont wanna screw up this game!

IDK why you would update ? i completed the game once a few months ago and a few nights ago i started playing it again, never updated it .....

there truly is no reason to update these games. your not playing them online. so just disable your internet connection on your ps3. all will be fine.

Have you set the internet connection to "Disable"? If not, almost all "new" games ask u to update.

Ok I know a lot of new games ask you to update. Let's be clear first I am not updating my firmware, I am asking about game updates. And I know about shutting of ps3 internet connection. Don't some of the updates for games fix glitches and also can add some things to the game (levels,weapons.ect.).

I am asking because I had an annoying glitch where an arm from bad guy stayed frozen in my arms until the next action scene for the game.

just update the game nothing will happen is an update for the game so dont worry i got he same update when i was playing that game so no worries

are you sure the new patch does not encrypt the game with 3.55+ keys? it happens for games like killzone... If it does, delete game data for dead space 2, and try launching it again... it should work...

it has a lot to do with update. Some game patches do update your game to work with newer FW... this just means the game will say you're not on the right FW and to update. SOLUTION: turn internet connection off, games will stop asking you to patch, as those patches are mostly for online gaming you have no interest in them. If you did update, and found the game asking to update, just delete game data. It should solve the issue

Believe it or not, some games actually NEED TO BE UPDATED to work!

But in this case NO! Leave Dead Space 2 as it is (repetitive).... :)
