Firmware 3.72 - confusing articles upon googlesearch
 

Hello,

I updated to 3.72 and decided to google something like "jailbreak for ps3 3.72". Suprisingly, I got alot of hits saying: "Easy jailbreak for 3.72 released!" etc. I have downloaded some files and tried to install them, then I started tampering trying to install multiMAN..then I start seeing "3.55 cfw" (CFW = custom firm ware right?) and I am now left abit confused..

In order to jailbreak 3.72 to play backuped games/homebrew, do I need to "downgrade" or something? Can anyone please show me a nice tutorial for this specific case or something? Because the articles on google seem like ripoffs, full of commercial crap and popups and not very informative at all!

Only way to install CFW (max 3.55) is to downgrade with a hardware flash like progskeet or E3. Look at the Progskeet homepage for example to see what it takes to do this :)

Never trust google results (like youtube) for CFW downloads for the PS3. Most, if not all, are fake. They are published to screw people on working CFW. Only trust the real scene sites ;)

What you have download was probably a computer virus (have you used a small pc application provided by some fake sites for downloading the Firmware update?) and an official .pup from sony.

Rule #1 in the PS3 Scene:
Don't trust youtube videos or unknown sites you find with google...


For the Downgrade, check if your ps3 model is downgradeable and then look for Progskeet or E3 flasher in the forum.
