Since a more or less short break from public posts I am back with a little tool called "PS VITA Firmware xTractor".

For now it only works with firmware 00.945.040, tho surely I will update it sooner or later.

Just a short info about the firmware itself, it is not unencrypted like the PS3 ones.
The tool is ment for those who will join the VITA scene as a little sign that you are not alone ;-)

Crawl out of your holes and come up with your tools and research, guys! :)

I hope the PS VITA scene will not **** up as the PS3 scene did over the last months cuz of the piracy infected environment.

If you ask anyone who was with the beginning of the PS3 scene it was much more fun without the commercial sense behind it all.

Without this **** it would even have saved many talented people of a lot of trouble.

Nevertheless I hope to see the good guys back @ VITA!

Greetz to the ones who kept it real,

Somewhere an English teacher is crying.

I know the developers have had the vita for a while, but I don't think it has been released to the public yet, not even in Japan.

Development kits are already out... ...not to mention that there are atleast of a 100 stolen units.
Those stollen units are sooo funny because not only they are before it's launch date but on the place of the PSVita logo on the faceplate they have instead a PlayStation logo (LOL).
Well if that leads into something I might consider buying a used one in the future...

I wonder what firmware that the PSVita is going to start with. I heard its something along the lines of 0.XX.XX or something like that

Does anyone know how vita's security system is? If they failed like in the PSP, we use PS3 to get the keys LOL

It is anyone's guess...sometimes Sony learns from a blunder, sometimes they repeat the same exact blunder over and over again. Considering that the unit hasn't even been released to the public yet, it is a bit early to say exactly what the security will be like. If this tool actually does work, then the launch models might get reprogrammed as to block the hole being used to gain access.

...Or Sony might realize that the only reason to buy one of these within 2 years of launch is for homebrew, and thus an exploit is an important sales tool. Wait...what am I saying? Sony using logic? Forget I mentioned it.
