BlueRay drive problem
 

My console is Fat 40gig with Kmeaw cfw 3.55

So after I finished put in my thermal heat lcd mode my blueray drive does not take in disc any more: Things I have done to cancel out some problems

1. I have fixed the misalignment= Still won't take in disc
2. Rechecked all the the cable's and wire to make sure they were not loose
3. Used a backup functional 80 gig backward compat. blueray drive from that and used my bd control bd and optical lens= still none
4. thought it might be a optical lens used I used the 80 gig backward compatible lens: still none

So I'm left with thinking if my control bd has crap!! Can anyone shine some more thoughts on this?

check the power connector for the bd unit(frst pin 12volt,gnd.gnd.5volt)

There's power because I can still see the blue light blinking.

you put it back togeather right?

Putting the drive back together can be tricky.
With the top off, make sure the mech has fully ejected before placing the top back on the drive.
I swapped a laser out a few days ago and I had to fiddle around for 10 minutes trying to get it right.

@ daveyp187- I put all back together double check everything.
@ japsander when you say "mech has fully ejected". Your refereeing to the 2 swing arm and the mech on the left or right side that goes up and down? I've made sure I have cleared and fixed both of the issue's already.

After more investigating this issue I think I may have a solution for my issue. I think it might be the IC BD7956FS (driver control chip). Which controls the mechanism for the blue ray drive. Going to buy one and install and see what happens.

my bdrom is also dead. symptoms are:
you insert disc into it, laser mount moves a little bit making a sound, disc does not spin, 4-5 seconds later it tries to move again. it tries 4 or 5 times and then gives up. i took it apart, tried everything i could, but to no avail.

what are your symptoms?

mine did not spin, made 4 clicks as the laser tried to work then nothing.
solution was install a new laser.

if the laser is faulty, the disc wont spin.

take the top off the drive and check for the light

there is no light.
i am on slim chechnya 2408B
i tried cd, dvd, bd, all the same. no light, just tiny attempt of movement.
