Help needed buying new PS3
 

Hi,

I will be buying a new PS3 in a couple of days and I required some guidance in acquiring the perfect one. I need to find a console with version 3.55 or lower than that. I know its not impossible to find one. Trust me, Google is my friend and i searched a lot to find out how to look for an older model but all the posts I found were more than 2 months old or more and some forums dont even answer this question for me.:mad: :dontknow:

I have found out till now that Game Bundle PS3's or 250 GB models are the most likely ones to have lower FW like the God OF War 3 PS3 bundle. But can anyone here please help me out in listing a couple of these bundles which are more likely to have a lower firmware? Please cuz i dont wanna get stuck with a console with FW higher than 3.55:bawling:

But is any of the manufacturing information written on the box of the console or do I have to open the box and only then can I know when was is manufactured?? I'll be going hunting for the console from tomorrow so i can keep an eye out for the pointers. And also i wanted to know if the God Of War 3 version is a model manufactured when teh game was released and the FW version is the one required by the game??:dontknow:

the cech xxxx x thingy is written on the box too , http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/god...-bundle-75674/ it says gow 3 bundle carries 3.41 fw well u should check the box and the cech number is written on the bottom of both sides of the box

I am from Mumbai, India.

So, I went for The Hunt for the desired PS3 and found out that one of the shops over here are selling Model CECH-2508A and CECH-3008A. I cross checked the model CECH-2508A with the details on this page http://www.edepot.com/playstation3.html and found that this model was released in 2010 and the other one in 2011. Is there a possibility that this 2508A model sports a FW lower than 3.55?? The box had the 3D Gaming support logo on it too, I wanna know is, were the consoles on 3.5 or lower able to use this 3D function.:dontknow: This logo thingy was eating my head and I need to be confirm to go for the 2508A one.

yezzz with the 3.5 update released on 21 Sep 2010 ps3 can play 3d games and movies , and cech 2508a can have fw between 3.40 to 3.61 , and dont bother with 3xxxx models , cant u ask shopkeepers ?? just check the fw if its >3.55 then return it ;)

The perfect PS3? There is no such thing.

The CECH 3XXX Models have a revised motherboard which you cannot really flash (downgrade) and I think they come with 3.6X+.
