Is it possible if i can downgrade my 4.0 firmware to a lowerone so i can jailbreak my ps3? (PS)

No, it will not.
As @jhax78 stated, you'll need a hardware flasher such as Progskeet or E3 Flasher and that's if you can even downgrade with the PS3 you have.

The banner isn't exactly accurate, as 4.0 CAN be downgraded, yet it only says 3.7x or lower...

Anyhow, it would be dependent on the revision of PS3 you have, as well as it's stock fw revision. If your model of PS3 came with a firmware that was 3.55 or less, then yes you can downgrade via hardware flasher. If not, you're SOL, and would need to either get a new PS3 already below 3.55, or one which has a stock firmware lower than 3.55 then downgrade.
