Much less fan noise with Rebug !

I have just got a TB and rather than use the dongle firmware I thought I would upgrade to Rebug 3.55.2.

I have discovered that my 'phat' console no longer 'overheats' after about 15 mins of play - a whole hour of AC revelations and it's still running quietly.

:)

why? have rebug tweaked the fan controlling codes?

:dontknow:

Yes - that's my point - on the last CFW 15 mins of AC brotherhood or Uncharted 3 would make the fans kick in - now I can run for over an hour without any noise.

ok but is not about your console doesnt overheat whit rebug...maybe you moved the console a bit whitout even notice, and you got a better airflow now

It sounds like you were just past the brink of where the fan goes to a higher speed, and now you are right below it. It might be because you moved the system or even because it is a couple degrees cooler in the area that you have the PS3 compared to last week.

That said, if you are right on the brink of the fan going to a higher speed, the system is running hotter now than it was then...the when the fan kicks into higher speed the temperatures drop well below the threshold but the fan then keeps running at the higher speed.
