Does this enhance the FPS at all because the last version of the official app i used had massive FPS issues which rendered it basically unusable for anything but XMB work :(

Try it and find out, this enhances the official version and makes it suck less.

i know this might sound noobish and like spam but just wanted to confirm that there is no way to activate ORP unless u have a psp correct?

Ok, i had a psp paried with my ps3 but now that psp have a broken lcd.
Can i use my laptop as a remote screen or what fucntion does this software supports ?

What this basically does is enabling remote play for applications that normally don't support remote display (like the previous mentioned COD).

The other part of the wikipage about Open Remote Play, is about enabling Remote display towards other devices then PSP and Vaio (like your normal desktop PC, netbook, tablet or phone).

Combine both and you can play Applications, games, PS1/PS2/PSP, other emulators without even needing an PSP or Vaio or without the application specifically being designed/enabled (what the patch enables for you) for remote play (the normal limitations are explained on the lower half of the wikipage)

About the FPS: this takes some resources for second display, but because its resolution (and therefore bandwidth) is limited, the penalty should not be as severe as halving it (but it does have an impact).

I get a NOD32 warning when I click the download link.

It says "DMON" / Office file monitor, so I guess it is a false positive, but just wanted to let you know.

It is a false positive, the file is the one on PS Dev Wiki and i know they are thorough with making sure their files are safe.
