Using E3 flasher on different consoles without soldering
 

Hey guys. After i bricked my ps3, i am still trying to fix it but i bought a new one. And i tried to downgrade it too:shot:. First they are both ps3 120 gb slim cech 21004a with macronix bios, and the e3 flasher was updated with macronix firmware.

1. When i tried to backup the second the ps3, e3 flasher gave the not original ps3 error. Then i updated the e3 flasher with the "samsung firmware", and it backup up successfully, backed up twice, controlled each other, with the methods on ps3devwiki.
Then i was on 4.0, backed up. What i did step by step is:

2.1. copy the "e3_downgrade.bin" file to your MicroSD-Card
2.2. unplug the power cable from the Playstation 3
2.3. put the MicroSD-Card into the E3-Flasher
2.4. set the 6 switch of the E3 Flasher:

2.5. starts the Playstation 3 and let it boots to the XMB
2.6. push the "Start"-Button on the E3-Flasher

*the flash process begins and the 8 LEDs will one by one lights on
*the flash success, when all 8 LEDs blinks.

2.7. unplug the power cable from the Playstation 3
2.8. switch the sixth switch of the E3 Flasher from "UNLOCK" to "LOCK"
2.9. plug in the power cable and turn on the Playstation 3
2.10. If you flashed your PS3 correctly, your PS3 will start and show this message: “Push PS button”. DO NOT PRESS THE PS BUTTON!
2.11. unplug the power cable of the Playstation 3.
2.12. Insert the Downgrade Dongle to the right most USB port on PS3
2.13. plug in the power cable of the Playstation 3.
2.14. starts the Playstation 3 in factory mode: push the "POWER" Button and directly the "EJECT"-Button on the Playstation 3.

*the Playstation 3 check this with 3 times beep

2.15. wait until the Playstation 3 shut automatic off
2.16. unplug the Jailbreak/Downgrade Dongle.
2.17. Copy the files Lv2diag.self and PS3UPDAT.PUP from the downgrade_file.rar package of the folder STEP 1 to the ROOT (not subfolder!) of your USB Mass Storage Device
2.18. Insert the USB Mass Storage Device to the right most USB port on PS3.
2.19. Now turn on your PS3 and leave it alone, the PS3 should turn off by itself in few minutes.
2.20. Unplug your USB Mass Storage Device from the PS3 and put into Your computer.
2.21. Now copy and replace the files on your USB Mass Storage Device with the Lv2diag.self from the STEP 2 folder
2.22. Insert once again to the right most USB port on your PS3
2.23. Turn on your PS3, it should turn off by itself in about ~20 seconds.
2.24. Unplug your USB Mass Storage Device from PS3 and turn on Your console You should see Rogero V2 with 4.00 Spoofer
2.25. Now make backup of Your CFW like STEP 1

sorry man but what you explain is bull****! you can flash only 1time the e3_downgrade bin on a ps3! when you try to flash it to a second ps3 the e3 gave you a fail message!

sorry man but the guide that you have is the real bull*****. if you read carefully i mean that when u upgrade the e3flasher with samsung firmware it will not check if it used before. and i downgraded my second ps3 using the e3_downgrade.bin file!! it is not giving any fail message now. I am telling again: Two of my ps3's have macronix bios and i used the e3 flasher with samsung update file and it worked with no errors. ok am i clear enough??

oh i haven't read this part!

I'm little bit confused that the Samsung update works on the other nor, because they have different sektor sizes and so on!

So, Basically, to use the E3 Flasher just to downgrade consoles you just need to update it again with the same firmware? :burnout:

yes how slhsm says... the 2011.10.28 update.bin have no one e3 check and it support all NOR type Samsung, Spansion and Macronix.


so you can downgrade and backup your NOR without a e3 blockade on how many ps3 do you want!


thx slhsm for the tipp, i really don't know about before and can't test it because i have the samsung NOR and so i have flash directly the 2011.10.28 update.bin ;)
