1.get the Original 4.00 PS3UPDAT.PUP

2.get PS3MFW Builder 0.2 Portable Win32

3. Use only ( Add new icons to the XMB Game category

4. DON`T DO ANYTHING OTHER!! ONLY STEP 3!!

5.Make your new 4.00 wiht app_home folder and install packes folder!

6.get a Original PSN Demo http://store.brewology.com/demos.php?lang=de

7.Put this on a usb stick

8. go to install packes and install!

9.Have fun!!

Ok ,if this does work for 4.0 why don't you show / make a video of you making OFW 4.0 pup with MFW Builder . Then show us a video of you flashing your PS3 then show us that you can install retail pkgs or retail demos ..? I would like to see this . I am sure others would like to see a video also enough with talk cause it will go nowhere. Without a video or some proof people are not going to take a chance of Bricking / screwing up there ps3 , until there is real proof it can be done . So why don't you make a video & show proof .? Also if this does work on OFW 4.0 . Why should we only try if we have a E3 Flasher ? If it works i sure the hell would want to keep install packages option on my OFW PS3 .Why would i want to disable the install package option ,after seeing that if it truly does work ?

I understand you are saying to not do it unless you have a flasher if updating from CFW 355 then you can downgrade back .But for those people on OFW 4.0 ,if this can be done without BRICK . I am sure all of the people on OFW would appreciate a real video for proof & maybe somebody will believe this works & will try & we can get more conformation on this. If it does work ,i sure the hell would like the install package option on my OFW ,but i am in no way going to flash my OFW PS3 unless there is hardcore proof .

I Don`t have a way to make a video! when you are ready on OFW 4.00 then i can`t Risk any thing! so you can make this when you wont! when the pup is bad the ps3 only say that the pup is corupt and dont install this!

any one wiht a e3flasher and a cam can make a video and don`t risk anything! and can say that this is true!

I have a fairly new ps3 running 4.0 What would this do for me or for progress on the scene? I'm willing to try this at the risk of a brick if someone would walk me through the process,and just to warn who ever will i'm not the brightess crayon in the box:dontknow:

I have 2 PS3 on CFW 355 & 1 PS3 on OFW 373 ,i can try it but, i have 500GB of stuff to lose if something goes wrong & i don't like to take chances like that for just installing packages. Unless 100% confirmed .I will wait & see if somebody will try or make a video before i even think to try .. I would like to believe you ,but i am no sucker to just flash my PS3 ,without thinking about the consequences..

All you would do is what he has posted on his top post . Get the win32 MFW builder from rebug.me .. Load the OFW 4.0 pup into it ,uncheck everything but i believe he is saying install package options . he claims it is step 3 .I have MFW builder installed .I can tell you ,if you are willing to try . Also ,for the scene it would allow people on OFW to install there own game patches & PSN packages or game demos ,etc ..But are you willing to make a video ? If you are thinking to try ,learn how MFW builder works ,it is quite easy .Team rebug has a compiled one on there site for download . it has the Ps3 keys in there also . The rest is up to you ,it should say on the site ,or around here how to use it. I would walk you through it or make it ,but i have to go right now..
