video chat help

I have recently bought a ps3 slim. I got internet connection so that I can talk to my sister who stays abroad. I have only ps3 to connect to internet. I have thought as PSP has skype PS3 would also be having skype, but today I have come to know that it is wrong. The problem is I have only ps3 and my sister doesn't have ps3. Please help me with anyway to video chat with my sister. Thanks in advance. Kindly ignore any mistakes as I have typed it all using my ps3 gamepad. Today I have updated my ps3 to v4.0.0 too.

Your sister will need a PS3 in order for you both to video chat. It is true the PS3 does NOT have Skype however two people with PS3 systems will still be able to video chat using the PlayStation Eye peripheral.

Is there any other way? Eagerly waiting for a +ve reply. I'm ready to do whatever you say like multiman, jail break, etc. I have heard about ps3 magic, by using which we can install any os on ps3. If it is possible then I will install windows and then skype. Is this ps3 magic a genuine software, if so will I be able to install skype in windows/linux that is installed on ps3. Please suggest.

You cannot install Windows on the PS3. Linux only. And Skype does not work on Linux from the PS3. The only people who install Linux on their PS3's are people trying it out because it's cool for the first five seconds or developers actually looking for something useful.

I am afraid she will have to get a PS3 as well...

multiMAN would do nothing and neither would jailbreaking your console. Jailbreaking your console WOULD allow for possible future methods to work but as of now, nope.
