PS3 Dead?

my ps3 just turned itself off and has a red flashing light. every time i try to turn it back on it turns itself off after a second and flashes red again. i have no idea what to do i havent even heard of this before

Does it flash yellow before flashing red or just completely flashes red and then turns itself off.

your ps3 has got ylod = yellow light of death , read up about how to fix it ,

not every ylod is gfx related or about the connection.

different corrupt regions in flash also could cause ylod. i would try first a flasher and look at the nand/nor, before doing ANY reflow.

You can temporarily fix it by baking the motherboard.

It's such a stupid thing to do or tell someone to do.

Is that actually something people try?

If it flashes yellow then red, you got yellow light of death. Read this: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...145#post102145 Not sure it will help you that much though.
