Can I swap nands ?
 

Guys I have a hand full of ps3's here that I have picked up over the last few months.

One of them I have been using for a few weeks without problems running 3.41. I watched a movie and when I went to turn it on yesterday the drive would not work.
I have tested drive in another ps3 and all is good and I have tried another blu ray drive but it wont even accept disk.
There is power but for some reason there is no comms between motherboard and logic board. Tried everything.

So any way I was thinking I have another ps3 here with no logic board on 4.10 so I can't do anything with that but what if I take the two nands off the 3.41 console and put on the 4.10 console and then remarry a new drive.

I use to mess with cable tv boxes and use to remove the two chips from them read them and then dump them and write to other cable boxes, could I do the same with the ps3 ?


Finally how come no one has thought of using a TSOP 48 pin reader to dump the nands ?
I have one here when I use to take the amtels out of cable boxes.

1 swapping nands won't work you need to replace cell syscon etc etc too
because it's all linked to eachother

2 we have clips for nands where you don't need to desolder them to read/write them

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I will have to give up on the 3.41 console with no blu ray. I don't like being beat but can't figure out why the motherboard can't see any logic boards.
Tried a few logic boards with remarry software on 2.30 but nothing was detected.

Moving on to the 4.10 console with no logic board, do you recommend the 360 clip for the nand with progskeet 1.1 ?
I keep hearing bad things, one guy on here even posted that could read the samsung chip but could not write to it.

I did hear a rumour that progskeet was going to make there own nand clip

Just curious because i'm a nub and have a NAND unit, this 360 clip is there anything special that would need to be purchased do you have a link to the item?

I'm really in need of a solderless option as i dont trust myself soldering anything and i dont know anyone i trust enough to do it either :)

I have been thinking of getting progskeet also, since my e3 flasher will not work on nand models.

I found this bundle of what I think is all that is needed. If @jhax78 could confirm, it might help us both out. Also if you might know of a cheaper site, or is that about the going rate for all that stuff?

Cool thanks for the heads up, i've tried looking at my more local distributer from the progskeet site but it would seem i would end up paying more than from the echina link so i guess i might have to go with them, anyone had any experience with them do they have any shipping issues etc?

Say im got 2 consoles are exact the same if im dump dead one and flash live one does it gona work?
