hmmm you just need files with many seeds and leechers and @ the button must be a green icon for your nat settings. if there isnt a green icon you must chck your router configuration for port forwarding settings. And you can play with the max connection setings...hope it helped a little bit......

Edit: example of my Cisco E3200 router for utorrent :) http://portforward.com/english/route...0/Utorrent.htm Just look for your router, skip the advertise page and look up utorrent and follow the steps... |
As Oozic said you would need to open or forward your port in order to get maximum settings and enable outgoing.... I forget what it is but is in preferences that would enable faster speeds.

Once you have your green tick, run this program http://members.upc.nl/cheatengine/CheatEngine561.exe
Load it up, and in the top left corner there is a computer icon, click and it will open up a box in the middle of the screen. select utorrent and press open. Then when that box is gone, in the middle of the right side there is a tick box next to Enable Speedhack. tick it a bar should show underneath the tick box and will prob show 1. drag it to 0.5 and click apply. Watch your speed jump up.... i get at least 2x speed, normally more (the highest i have has is 12.9mbs) on a 30 meg connection) Hope this helps |

Faster internet connection ^^^^^^^^^^^
Oh well, joke anyway ^^ Get a file with a good amount of seeders(and to some degree leechers also, as they share as well), is all there is to it.. Private torrent trackers, usually musters a pretty good speed, however, they also care that your upload ratio is normally equal to your download ratio. Also they normally observe whether you share the file up till 48 hours after you dl'ed it etc, to give again... |
I'ts not really an answer too your question but have you ever considered an alternative? Don't get me wrong, torrents are great but they have flaws when it comes to download speeds if you want to download very new, very old or unpopular files. And apparently you find download speed important.
You can tweak your setting a bit and gain a bit of downloading speed but the speed of torrents is always limited by the seeders. Not much you can do about that... You could join a private tracker but it requires some "dedication" (ratio's, seeding time,..) or pay for a seedbox. If you really want to max out your connection all the time, no matter what linux distro you are downloading. I suggest USENET (=newsgroups)... I made that switch about 3 years ago and, while it's not free and it has a learning curve, I never looked back. In my opinion the biggest advantage of usenet is it's privacy, you don't share your IP with peers so the risk of receiving a letter about your downloading is next to zero. Maybe your provider supports it so you can use it for free (However, most ISPs do no longer offer it) If not, you wil need a payserver. Astraweb has a new blockaccount: 1000 GB of download for 50$ http://www.astraweb.com/ If you download very much you can go with a montly subscription ( starting at +/- 5$/month) ... |
Some (almost ALL) ISP do a traffic shaping; you can bypass setting the Encryption to "forced" on utorrent settings.
Without encryption, i get max speed ~30kbps. Turning on and "forced", i get ~1.4 mbps on a good/release torrent. Dont know if this solution applies to you, but you can try |
