Luxury problem OFW 2.50
 

Hey all .. !

I have just bought a 60 gb PS3 with OFW 2.50.
My question is now, what to do with it?

I all ready have a PS3 slim 120 gb (now 750 gb internal and 2 tb external) with CFW 3.55 Kmeaw, and a 320 gb with OFW 4.11...

If you guys/girls was in my position, what would you do with the "new" 60 gb?
-Stay below 3.21 and install Linux Yellow Dog
-Uprade to CFW 3.41, and what is the benefit with 3.41 compared to 3.55?
-Uprade to CFW 3.55 and try another FW and maybe install Otheros++
-Maybe something different?

I really hope some of you can help me with this "problem".

i would put 3.55 and other os on it and sell

I'd use it for testing purposes, AND seeing as you have yours on 2.50 fw, enable factory service mode, disable disk auto-start, and enjoy some good original ps2 games ;P

Can you tell me what det benefits is with factory service mode?

oh, fsm is just for you to play original ps2 games on a non BC ps3... which reminds me, that your 60GB ps3 IS BC, isn't it? if so, you don't need to activate fsm because it's generally useless except in some cases (like the one i mentioned)...

to enable it, you can either do it with a dongle or psgroove port or you can go to a mfw, use the service mode pkg and downgrade to 2.50 again. i'd suggest the dongle or port if you have any capable device...

but since you don't need it because you can play ps2 games perfectly well, i suppose it's better to keep it safe...

Can all PS3 models play ps2 games in fsm?

I'll agree with dale above me. The best option u can do is to gwt a bigger internal her for it and update it to 3.55 rebug with other os. Function. since it is a full hardware bc model u can back up ur ps1 n 2 games on it. In essence it is the best ps3 hardware out there for hacking. Minus that it is a nand setup and hard to setup a downgrade flasher on it. My 2 cents

Not all games are compatiable. It goes for any method of playing ps2 games. They all have compatibility issues different from the other. Ie fsm. Cobra. Or bc console.
