Ok, i want to explain it once for all. There isn't NOW a 3.60+ CFW PS3 or Jailbreak.

STOP LOOKING FOR IT !


Why i'm telling this? because people is stupid and keep looking for it.
If you find someone that post on twitter or ANY youtube video or some unknown website about a 4.11 CFW or ANY 3.60+ CFW they are FAKE!

So who trust? all the devs on the #ps3dev irc channel and KaKaRoTo.

Who is KaKaRoTo? he is a dev, well known on the ps3 scene and he is working on an HOMEBREW ENABLER, not a CFW!!

What is an Homebrew Enabler (also called HEN)? it's a software (i don't know how he will release it) that will enable a way to install homebrews and execute it.

What Homebrews will it execute? it will execute only normal homebrews, like emulators or any app that do not need any special syscall. this means NO BACKUP LOADERS and there will be no way to play any pirated game.

Who i am to say this? well i'm not well known but i'm a dev and i only care about homebrews. i'm not interested about FW modding and piracy and i will never be. i written this only because i still see people looking for it. STOP LOOKING FOR IT. if there will ever be one, you will see it on this website.

If you really want to JB your ps3 you will need any ps3 that is on a fw lower then 3.56. if you have one with a 3.60+ FW you will need to check if it's jailbreckable (all the new models are unjailbreakable) and then, if it's possible, buy and hardware flash to downgrade to 3.55

Once you are on any FW lower 3.60 you will not able to play online.

i didn't make a thread because it can be probably answered in the thread in one post.

so here it is,

on the ps2 we had the independent exploit,
edit a ps1 game save,
put it on ps2 memorycard,
run ps1 game, that you edited its gamesave.
when you boot the game you usually have an elf loader at the start, from there you could run unsigned code. cogswap, snes, sega emu etc.

has anyone which i guess they have tried this on the ps3, as i have never seen it wrote anywhere before.
are ps1 gamesaves on ps3 encrypted?

i think so. it's one file when you look under multiman's file manager.
i think the ps2 ran the psone games pretty much through hardware whereas it's an emu for the ps3. don't really take any words i'm saying as fact as i'm just kinda talking out of my ass and just assuming. i just figure some response would be better than none.
it is a good idea though. a lot of people wanna try save game exploits as they usually are what has worked pretty much up until this generation. i remember the psp having gta lcs save game exploit.

not exactly. if we can get mini's to run, that could lead to something. i really feel confident about edat encrypting/decrypting and it leading somewhere.
