Anyone have a Wasabi 360 or xKey?
Do you like it? Easy to install? Safe to go on Live? I read the new firmware allows for easy extraction of the drive key so you don't need any extra hardware to buy.
That is why I'm considering buying one, I don't need to buy any other hardware. I Googled Wasabi 360 installation and only found one video in Spanish on it so that wasn't as helpful. If anyone knows of installation video please link it. What would you choose the xKey or Wasabi 360 and why? Thanks |
My brother has the Wasabi 360, he said its best one to get as its pretty easy to install and also does an automatic drive key retrieval. The xk3y you'll still need to manually get the drive key using your computers sata controller and a probe3 (if your drive is a liteon).
You can find an easy installation guide for both the phat and slim versions in .pdf format on the wasabi website (http://wasabi360.com/download.html). As for Safe on Live.. I aint too sure I should imagine as long as you backup ISO is put through abgx360 and is successfully stealth patched and the correct topology is injected especially for your XGD3 titles you should be safe as houses, i read somewhere that Microsoft are catching people out because of cheap media discs and them giving bad PI & PIF results. With both the xk3y & the wasabi 360 there is no disc so i doubt you could get flagged. But just remember even though it "may" be safe at the moment, things change and they can change quite quickly. My brother has been playing his legal backup copys of Battlefield 3 and Black Ops online for awhile now and hasn't been flagged, think he made a backup of ME3 a couple of days ago and has been playing that online too. But each day he is checking his x value just incase. |
How do you check if you are flagged ?

if i buy a wasabi 360 does it work on the latest models of xbox 360?
like if i go to costco and buy a xbox 360 and I could use it for that? |
@arcadekidflo
- To check your ststus, go into System Settings then into System Info. You will see your consoles serial number and down the bottom you will see your Encrypted X Value (looks like "X:" then a bunch of characters). Write both of these down. Next download xval 2.0 to your PC, unzip and open the proogram. Its pretty easy to use, put in your serial number and the X-value you wrote down then hit the decrpyt button. You may get one of many results, I have 2 XB360's one slim and the result I get is "Sect is Clean" which means all is fine, not flagged & all my games have passed all AP challenges. My Phat comes up with "AP 2.5 Challenge Failed", this means it didn't pass one of the checks on one of my backups so I have been "flagged" however even if you find you have been flagged for some reason it does not mean you'll get banned!. Microsoft allows for some flags as in the case of the AP Challenge Failed one this can be caused by a scratched disk etc. I just make sure that all my backups have been passed through abgx360 and has had the topology injected correctly (XGD3 Titles), it has been stealth passed and there is no Game CRC errors.. also make sure you burn to a quality disc such as verbs.
@TheBuzzer - The Wasabi is compatible with all phat consoles & i think the majority of the slim consoles, if buying a slim you'll need to see what dvd-drive is in it (You can check just by looking at the drive tray) I think all the drives are now supported however I would check with Wasabi just incase. Also the Wasabi works on the latest dashboard too. |
wasabi has a flag protection so you wont get flagged and as for on-line it as safe as using a flashed drive.
i have both as i could not get 2 xkey and the wasabi is so much better and much faster at game loading |
Thanks guys I appreciate the reply's.

You cant always go by xval. There have been people banned for tampering with a clean xval. At first ODD emulators were not live safe at all, but it appears they have come a long way. I like the UI of the wasabi. Also as said above not having to use a PC to get your key is a plus. Personally I am sticking to a LT 3.0 flashed drive, but that is just me.

I also like the Wasabi's UI, with there latest firmware release the UI is a bit more customizable, I hope in the future the UI can have different themes. |
I've heard that the Wasabi is better but a friend of mine has an xKey and I've been pretty impressed with it, he says it's very easy to use etc but even he has said he bought it in a rush and that he'd rather have a Wasabi so take what you can from that.
You can't go wrong with either and I have a WODE mod on my Wii which comes from the same makers and from what I've seen and experienced they make great products. |
