hey guys i have bought a jb-king dongle and for my bad luck when i try to update the jbking cfw the console says to me 'the latest system firmware is already install and noneed to update' :( what is wroooooong with my console ????,,, i have tried to install from recovery mode but useless cuz at jbking installation guide they say that i must be at official fw 3.55 and my machine in recovery mode is at 2.41 ,so i am get stuckeeeed and dont know what to dooo pleeeeeeez heeeeeeeeeeelp :(

You need to firstly check what fw you are on in the settings menu. Once you have confirmed you have 3.55 or lower. Reinstall 3.55 OFW (from the recovery menu). Once you are back to 3.55 OFW, upgrade to 3.55 TB CFW v2 (from recovery menu). Once installed you should be all good.

P.S. Your title is super annoying and won't help you get the help you are needing, just my 2 cents.

yes i am at cfw 3.55 jailbreak with multimn manager that every one uses and so it tells me that no need to update cuz the true blue cfw is 3.55 too !!

i need to ask you a questiion dude,,,, the jbking team says i must be at 3.55 before i install their cfw and update it from 'update via storge media' not from recovery !!!! i get stucked cuz installing from recovery will install jbking cfw from the beginning not on an existant ofw 3.55 as they sayed ,,, pleeeeeez heeeelp:(

Ok the wording on the JBking site is well Engrish. Ok this is the procedure for you to install FW from the recovery menu.

1) Turn off your PS3 by holding down its power button if it's on.
2) Press the PlayStation 3's power button and hold down the power button until you hear three beeps. Release the power button after you hear the beeps to access recovery mode.
3) Use your PS3's controller to select "6. System Update" in the recovery menu, and press the "X" button on the controller.
4) Insert the disc or USB memory stick into your PS3 if you're updating from a removable storage media device.

First install 3.55 OFW (download it from this website). Then install PS3_3.55_CFW V2 (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vp57ly). I highly recommend using the Custom Firmware Validator program recently uploaded to this site, that way it will validate the fw you are installing. The last thing you want to do is brick or update to a newer fw.

MAKE SURE THERE IS NO GAME IN YOUR PS3 WHEN UPDATING!

ok i have doneas you said now my old games working but when i run silen hill downpour it kicks me back to xmb with 'error 80010017' what to do ?

Two things. What version is your dongle, you may need to update it. Did you replace the original eboot with a patched one?

you are my heroo and thanx for ur awesome replies ,, i upgraded the dongle as youu said and the game start to install but it gives me ''disc error'' cuz there is some files i didnt download as i think when i complete all its files it will work isnt it ?
