Coloured PS3 XMB Wave Tutorial
This is a video tutorial of how to change your PS3 xmb wave colour. I would say that it's not really for beginners but if you have eyes and a brain you should be fine lol.
This is what can be achieved by following Part 1 and 2. You can download the pack in the video here http://www.mediafire.com/?q0h9n9kt4c3uccu and https://rapidshare.com/files/1700487..._Wave_Pack.zip. Use README.TXT for install help. Custom Coloured PS3 XMB Wave Pack with Download Link - YouTube Things you will need: PS3 Wave Edit Quick Start 3 Folder - http://www.mediafire.com/?x22e9og2rrrmg1w Hex editor neo - http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Downloads/free-hex-editor simplyzip - http://www.paehl.de/cms/simplyzip notepad++ - http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.0.html For Part 2 Photoshop (trial) - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/in...duct=photoshop nvidia dds plugin - http://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-t...dobe-photoshop Part 1: Wave Colour Coloured PS3 XMB Wave Tutorial Part 1 - YouTube Part 2: Background Colour & Particle Colours Coloured PS3 XMB Wave Tutorial Part 2 - YouTube Quick summary for both: 1. Grab your lines.qrc and decompress with simplyzip 2. Edit colour-settings.js, backgrounds .dds and particle colours/ proc_iridescent.tga to your satisfaction 3. Copy all new editions with hex editor to your lines and compress with simplyzip 4. Insert lines.zlp 8 byte hex start/PAL lines.zlp 8 byte hex start with hex editor 5. Copy to your dev_flash with multiman's file manager **ADDITIONAL INFO** The colour is measured in Red Green Blue (RGB) format. The way the values work for each is similar but not the same. I use simple maths to get more colours like this First go here http://www.december.com/html/spec/colorper.html this will show the RGB colour as a percenatge. The value of 3.0 = 100% So for the colour truepurple rgb(60%, 0%, 60%) The values would be 3 RED:float:1.8 3 GREEN:float:0.0 3 BLUE:float:1.8 4 RED:float:1.8 4 GREEN:float:0.0 4 BLUE:float:1.8 The background colours night-**.dds are the original colours which change every month. They are also the colours when the PS3 starts-up (coldboot), so change the current month to change the coldboot background. The background colours rgb-**.dds are the selection colours in theme settings. You can use this to have a variety of backgrounds/patterns to suit your coloured wave. As always have fun and enjoy !! |

@ Persian McLovin
Added the pack to rapidshare now man. Here is a link to the rasta wave though it's unfinished https://rapidshare.com/files/1349617249/lines.qrc and can't be used on PAL machines. |
Well for some reason I have problems with the original files and after I use those files, I have to reinstall my CFW. But don't worry all the files are well and I have the solution for my situation. If anyone have this problem only have to re-edit with winhex or using another hexeditor the "lines.qrc" and replace the first 16 bytes.
From this : 5152 4343 0086 B920 Change it to look like this : 5152 4343 0008 7980 and save the file :) After change those values any file/ wave from the pack will be working like a charm. Thanks Glowball.... I'm using right now your "Rasta" wave edition is very cool :) |
i have customized the coloured rebug coldboot with the red scorpion, to fit glowballs nice BumbleBee wave. i have just changed the red colour to yellow, but i think it is an awesome combination and i love it...
