True Blue and new CFW mess
 

Hey guys i may be a noobish :)..and im not even close to being a dev. But isnt this whole "we hate TB and will not use it cause its wrong to sell open source/stolen code" thing kinda pointless now.

I mean in 10 years is it still gonna be goin on. Cause we know CFW is not comin. They been reverse engineering TB for what seems like years.

And in my opinion would you rather give TB money or buy an OFW PS3 and give sony more money. Seems like a lose lose to me.

It all comes down to people want there CFW PS3s for many reasons, but also want to play new games. I dont blame them. I want to play them too. But have been holding out for....hmm.. i dont know for what anymore. Nothing is happening as far as new CFW.

How come you are so sure about your are saying?. In 10 years we have a PS9, *easy* solutions don't come fast and people tends to search for rapid solution even if the product is free, they will pay.

As far as I know we are in progress, meanwhile keep using the easy way to satisfy your needs. No one to blame. :)

Yea but look at it this way.
First TB figured out how to play newer games..so they released a DRM dongle.
Then JB king cracked TB (I think) and they released a DRM dongle.
So since we are working on it. Which ive heard also. Whos to say we wont see another fricken dongle.
I already seen a new dongle for emulators that include the wii,n64,ds,3ds. It seems that wont be cracked and released either. Maybe just a clone will happen.

When we buy games, we give developers the money, not Sony. So stop saying that buying games is giving money to Sony.

True Bullsh*t will be cracked just like every other dongle that surfaces, no need to wrry about that. Your logic is completely wrong. When TB was cracked, that tells us that it is crackable. A clone surfaced, which tells us that we can make our own TB clones. It is all there, we just need someone to do it all.

Publishers still have to pay $ony to release a game on their console. They have to buy the sdk. So $ony demand royalties or something, but it is true, when you buy a game, a portion of that money is going to $ony.

it's weird some of the ignorance around this heated topic.
we need like a thread that is all facts that is stickied. something that no one can disagree with cause there is proof/links/etc. the sad thing is, there is kinda that...EVERYWHERE; yet, people seem to not like the facts and would rather spout what's on their mind.

Well when i said about giving money to sony i wasnt talkin bout the games. I was talking about the alternative to TB for playing new games which is buying a 2nd PS3 and keep it on OFW.

And my point exactly..like you said we need somebody to do it all. People have cracked it and what they do is dont release it and sell a drm dongle instead.

All im saying is whos to say people wont keep cracking it..and keep releasing dongles? Like forever!

Ive heard all the "good" devs who can and will crack TB are part of TB in the first place. And im assuming JB King also.
So in my opinion i think were screwed as in forever! ;)

So for those of us who can only afford 1 PS3 I think we can hold out until PS Orbis is released..and then still have to buy TB to play all the old PS3 games. Or jus update an lose our CFW :/...or no? ;)

hey little bit offtopic:
i read all the time that trublu has stolen sourcecode/work from other devs, but if thats the case why is it so that no one can make some similar stick for open source?

devs get a set wage regardless of the amount of sales.(i know this cuz i know 2)
the money you part with in the shop DOES go to sony.
if the money doesnt make it to sony,sony loose money,not the other companies or workers.
