For simply downgrading: e3 or Progskeet?

I have a 4.0 fat ps3, the original firmware was a super early version, so i know i can downgrade. All i want to do is install a cfw/mfw/whatever you guys call it now. I've downgraded/modded/chipped several consoles in the past but ps3 hacking is much less organized than anything else i've done.

Basically, all i want to do is downgrade, i have no desire to do anything but run an hdd loader on my ps3 via usb (or internal if i have to, but i'd prefer usb).

So what flasher option would be best? And what would be the best way to accomplish my goal after downgrading?

Thanks!

well seeing you are experienced with soldering since you done several jobs in the past.

Progskeet.

I'm going to be a pain and ask why...? I believe you, i'm just curious.

I'm not great at soldering but i've done it enough that i know what i'm doing, so thats not a concern at all.

I'm also incredible cheap, so consider cost while you are at it ;)

I advise you to use E3 flasher. It is much easier then progskeet. There is no soldering needed.

progskeet is cheaper, built by the scene, you have a channel for support in irc, with some of the makers of prgskeet.

E3 ****s up a lot, doesn't support some boards... their tools barely work. its kinda messy.
