Play without Genuine PS3 Disc?
 

I have a PS3 on 3.55 with CFW, using MulitMan as backup manager.

As per instructions, I usually play my backups with a genuine PS3 disc in the drive. However, I recently lent all my genuine discs to a friend, and have left myself without any discs to use while playing backups. Unfortunately I don't have any access to other genuine discs at the minute.

I am, however, online and in possession of blank BluRays and a BluRay burner. Can I download a game and burn it? Or can I walk into a newsagent and buy a PS3 magazine with playable demos?

This is not entirely true if I remember correctly and I actually never heard of this. From my knowledge BDemu is only there to create a mount point to a dir on hdd. Disc check is still done and so from that I believe it is still required that a disc be in the drive to play games. Ofcourse there is the exception of some games which are patched to run discless anyways.

If that were true ? I would be able to play Black ops discless & you can not play without disc. You must play games that can play discless ? I don't believe that every game can play discless or the compatibility list would be marked all PS3 games with BDEMU.v2 can play Discless & it does not say this anywhere but only supported games can play without disc & they are all marked as discless. I use BDEMU.v2 & can't play all my games discless .

Isn't there that one pkg install method for black ops that let's you run from xmb?

You can use legit bluray movies. I don't know about burnt blurays though :/

Yes i believe so & it is 103 ,i am not sure this was i think for 341 users & i never tried it .Long time ago i believe when editing the eboot dev_bdvd to dev_hdd0 something like that to boot from XMB ?

What about USB mount from rogero, if you have an external, then play through app home

Isn't that the same difference as running it through multiMan?

From what I understand, it mounts the externall like a disc. Same reason Sean white snowboarding can play through rogero with USB mount, but not through multiman.
