Hacking the ps3 by drive emulation.
We are know ps3 is extremely difficult to hack, however why not try to hack it a much simpler way by emulating the bluray drive like wii key or x360 key.
Sure a bluray drive tech is different than a dvd drive however the concept should be the same. Also this will still allow for homebrews because all we need to do is sign the eboot with a 3.55 key that the developers already obtained. We wouldnt know the new keys however if the drive is emulated there is no point to because we still can play homebrews on the new firmware. So why not hack the ps3 by drive emulation? Might take a while to figure out how a bluray drive work but now bluray is so common and have so many devices that it should be a lot more simple to gather data on how bluray drive works compared to when the ps3 first came out. |
Or to flash the BluRay PS3 drive's like c4eva do with xbox 360 drives ! but this is just a bad dream, the PS3 scene is arleady dead .

I had heard that C4Eva was going to take a look at this, but I don't have any idea if he has or not...

well, that will requires you to have a bluray burner and tons of bluray disk. Not really cheap still. However this might cause blurray burner and disk sales to make the blurray disk cost cheaper. |
if it doesent lead to higher cfw, then why do it?
we can already play homebrew on 3.55 + |

Seems interesting... I remember flashing my xbox 360 drive to play "backed up games" so why wouldn´t it work for ps3 ??
Another thing I have thought of is, can we do something like a jtag but on ps3 ? |
very interesting going to follow this thread and maybe learn something.
