E3 Flasher restore process black screen!
Hello, today i started downgrading a ps3 slim with e3 flasher. The e3 was working 100% until the restore process (flash fun). The restore worked correctly without any errors on e3 flasher, but when i start the ps3 it stays on black screen and doesn't turn off, i've to plug the power cable off. I suspect that the Nor Dump is incorrect because i validate it with Hex Editor and the headers are all wrong. I've tried patch it with flowrebuilder (following same guides) and restore it again to ps3 but it stays the same. They say it's good to have a lot of nor backups, and i have it, but i think they are all bad dumps. If anyone can help me i would appreciate it, because i don't know what to do. I will post the link of my dump, to see if someone could patch ore something to put it back to my ps3 http://www.mediafire.com/?4l6dcis28sg44yd

I use PROGSKEET not E3, I checked your flash dump is inverted, Usage flowrebuilder and rewersed,(FI.I............wrong)(IFI.............correctly)

your ps3 is a CECH-25xx (JTP-001), last firmware was ofw411 and hdd drive TOSHIBA MK3265GSXH, if you like to get help, join the chat ps3downgrade if you patch it right, then the SHA-1: 2DD7D05D08BC4708A602069228BA5EE34E1E5D8C if you done it well ;) alex-07 |
all the confusion heh >>
lol is dump his good and e3 = FI.I Header, dump ok
backup bios downgrade(e3_downgrade.bin + bkpps3.bin + log) SD card Flash with 1-5DOWN // 6UP with this dump should work fine |
if my dump is good, why are the header inverted? is it normal that e3 flasher dump the nor like that?
i tried manytimes to restore the original dump , with flash fun, but the e3 flasher gives me errors, and when i open the log i see in the end an error like, cannot read nor or something... if someone could provide me the patched nor i would apreciate. Thanks. |
header confusion...aarrgg ;)
yes, it is correct, progskeet/teensy.. are unscrambled so to speak = IF.I

yup, if he uses the E3 manual patches with his dump in main-post( =correct header..period=FI.I) he ends up with the correct MD5/SHA-1 checksums ;) here's the patched dump ready for flashing SHA-1: 2DD7D05D08BC4708A602069228BA5EE34E1E5D8C http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19078406/bkpps3.patch.bin |
ok, thanks. but can someone tell me the procedure to recover the nor, just to see if i'm doing correct?

what a mess..was it bricked to begin with no right? then u should not use Flashfun mode (only if bricked, solder Tristate>SBE and flash back 1UP-2-6DOWN aka not booting..must use flashfun
normally one goes: 1)backup bios 2)verify 3)restore (i do them without restore>>straight to downgrade = 1-5DOWN/6UP - hit START in XMB - wait arr 8min..reboot and u must see "Connect PS controller" pull powercord, insert FSM dongle, power back on, hit start+eject, power off, insert USB(enter self+CFW), power on, let it do its thing, it goes off by itself, format USB stick, copy exit self, insert USB and power on, ps3 shutsoff and u should boot Rogero now playerk420 can verify this, he does the same ps: also, this can't be the reason(no restore bfore downgrade), one always?! end up with empty ROS1 folder(dump 355CFW,verify&bytereverse and extract using Flowrebuilder) on CFW after downgrade it occurs with restore also. it must be a FSM self bug, re-installing the same CFW in Recovery mode fixes this after downgrade, then proceed with QAflag>OFW3.55>Any CFW if it boots into XMB, restore dump = all switches DOWN hey..have fun |
the ps3 was working fine, until the restore process using flashfun. So you are saying that the flashfun isn't needed? then how can i recover my ps3 from brick? i followed the tutorial on this video E3 FLASHER INSTALLATION and DOWNGRADE TUTORIAL (Khalkedon) - YouTube

that video = restore(step2) in ps3mode-not flashfun mode..flashfun is unbrickmode = solder wire, so now solder wire, use patched bin(rename bkpps3.bin) and now u "must" use flashfun ah the name..fun ;)
 ps: guide is good.s*cks the verify part..cuse he only mention size..ah we know ;) lucky fix afterall hehe :p e3's guide also skips this (step2 video) restore, just be sure for correct dump..that's enough |
