Donation Fund: Putting an end to True Blue

Hello!

Yesterday I had an idea that could put an end to the True Blue Monemaking Machine once and for all.
We could contact Team E3DIY and ask them how much profit they plan to make with their dongle clone. Then, in a manner similar to the kickstarter projects, we collect donations up to that amount and once we reached it, they can release their method open source.
To make that happen, we need to message E3DIY and ask them if they would be willing to make that deal. It would reduce their costs, because they don't need to maufacture the clone and deal with all the other dongles.
What do you think?

Greetings Henterson.

I personally don't think all that money is worth the method they used to get a working clone. Maybe if they decrypted it etc that might hold some value but a way to clone isn't worth any money IMO. Just something I've come up with when walking to some devs on irc.

I had the impression that they must have successfully reversed it. I know that they have been working on the True Blue dongle since more than half a year. I don't think it is just a 1:1 clone or if a 1:1 clone is even possible.
But the only way to find out, is probably to contact them. We could then ask if they would have interest in such a deal as well.

JB King is a 1:1 clone using the same hardware.

Okay, so after the news it is clear that they are not working on a 1:1 clone. They also stated that they are working on a new dongle.
So now is the perfect moment to contact them.
Seriously people, just imagine how great it would be if they publish their "way B" and we can have a 4.11 firmware that is not restricted by a dongle DRM.
They would save costs, because they don't need to spend money in manufacturing the dongles and caring for security updates and we would have a free solution to play the newest games for free.
What do you think?

i think no with a capital "**** no"

donating thousands for them to release it open source is still paying for it and whats to say they wouldnt scam?

besides, they want to make ongoing money, not just a 1 shot payment.
companies milk the prostate of all who will pay in order to make them pay more. legit business practices use the same method and shady companies use it even more

Code eventually will be released to the public i second @japsander
Paying to bring it down, it's using the same *psychological warfare* that they use.
